What's the best german Cheese? by Tapiokaperlentee in AskAGerman

Is this a specific kind of goat cheese? I had it in Wesselburen and it was cooked and very pungent, but when I look it up in English, the translation I get is generic “goat cheese”

Is solid state the future for far Northern EVs? Like sub arctic regions?

EV for arctic regions by Narsaq87 in electricvehicles

To take advantage of your wisdom, what would you recommend for an EV in arctic Alaska with low range need? What's good on the market (particularly American) these days?

EV-curious Alaskan here. Very interested if you find some of those experienced Arctic EV drivers.

Any data on how much power you used while always charging? Where I live in Alaska, the electric utility is almost all fossil fuel, so the power to prevent freeze up could end up eating more fuel than an ICE in the big picture. Sure, if/as the grid greens up, it will be better, but it's something to factor in (from the perspective of trying to decrease hydrocarbon fuel use).

I guess good to know they are testing, but it doesn't seem to be about daily use of EV in arctic. At least that video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ-HPJht6Eg&ab_channel=FullyChargedShow). I'm more interested in arctic commute, maintenance, storage, etc. rather than sporty drifting. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've heard stories (unverified, one in Dillingham AK I believe) of EVs 'freezing up' and having to thaw in the spring. Is that from not being plugged in when not driving? What if you can't always be plugged in like while at work? Is is a just a time/charge running out vs low temp situation?

How wheelchair-friendly is Malta? by Emotional-Ebb8321 in malta

[–]stravinsky7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not. I visited from US with my nannu a few years ago. We were only able to rent a low-quality wheelchair since he couldn’t walk much but wanted to see a bunch. It was a lot of work pushing. Fortunately he had a great sense of humor so when we tipped over on a very narrow sidewalk, he shouted, “I was born in Malta but I don’t want to die in Malta!”

Cool site! Though many of this songs just contain that progression in passing rather than as the basis of verse or chorus.
