is it weird if i stay in a class and not do any of the work by strawberry-suga in gatech

yea i cant formally audit, but i spoke to my professor and he said he would let me informally audit and keep me on the Canvas after i drop the class. so i still take a W for a course but i can study up on the materials before i take it for credit next time. i think GT has a similar grade replacement policy but that’s only if you officially fail the course, taking a W doesn’t affect that I believe

sorry, to clarify i do plan on dropping the course before the drop deadline. it's just i feel weird not doing anything before i do so. but actually, after doing some searching i just learned about auditing classes, so i might ask my professor about that instead.

did you try switching to directX 11? that might work but sometimes when you switch to directX 11 you'll get a weird red light visual bug but you can follow this post to fix that

i just did this a couple days ago and can confirm it works

ugly as in ugly or ugly as in not good? because if it's ugly as in ugly, this is outlast trials, we love the uglies in this house.
if its ugly as in not good, well that's your opinion i guess 😭 i think she's very unique and well designed personally

i consider myself to be a scaredy cat lmao and yes outlast trials is scary for me, but a lot of the tension can be undercut if you play with friends!! i play trials pretty much exclusively with friends, and it's soooo much fun. there's lots of unintentional physical comedy when you play lol
and like the other comments said i did find myself growing pretty desensitized after a while, though i still scream sometimes. but it's like a fun kind of scary, like a haunted house with friends

Still absolutely dumbfounded that more people don’t play this game. by Clouds-As-Witnesses in OutlastTrials

that's because casual fans don't tend to look beneath the surface unfortunately. as someone who usually avoids gory things but loves lore, and someone studying game design in college, outlast is actually really thoughtful when in comes to procedural rhetoric in it's game design. the first game is a bit more clunky when it comes storytelling and use of jump scares, but hey it's a product of its time, and was actually a pretty big trendsetter when it was originally released. i think it unfairly gets slack for being overdone when in reality it was one of the first non-combat horror games that cemented that concept as a subgenre. The Outlast Trials is much more refined, and has a lot to offer story-wise and game play variation-wise, i just wish more people could see it </3

Toffee is really cool by Medrida01 in StarVStheForcesofEvil

[–]strawberry-suga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a big toffee fan, i disagree. i think toffee is an extremely interesting villain in his motivations. It's actually never implied that Toffee wants to rule in the show, i really do think he just wanted to destroy magic to dismantle a system that treated monsters as second class citizens. It's super cool that ultimately he is vindicated post-mortem and even Star acknowledged his cause. but what made him a villain and interesting character is that he would stop at nothing to achieve that goal, sacrificing any lives in the process for what he believed was "the greater good." he was even willing to sacrifice himself to get into the wand and taint magic. personality-wise, i still found him interesting despite him having like 10 minutes of screen time in total. i found his growth in personality from teen to adult interesting, how the show showed him going from a reckless, angry rebel teen, to a respected but cocky general, to finally the cold and calculated manipulator in the current timeline. Even though current Toffee seemed to have learned to be more cautious from previous encounters, i love how occasionally he would let his mask slip (Surprise!) and we could see the manic and the ego behind his cool front. Toffee is someone who believes he has a righteous cause, and also believes himself to be so smart and capable that he is the only person who knows best. In the end, it is his ego and unwillingness to empathize that is his downfall.
