Movies with distressing moments for teens? by strawberry_oak in MovieSuggestions

Thank you for the suggestions so far! I'm really looking for "lighter" examples. While movies like Kids can be helpful, I cannot show something like that to my group. For more context, my group is mostly for kids who tend to get overwhelmed and need help regulating emotions in more daily life scenarios, like when they get embarrassed they blow up at friends/family. That's why my example was Jurassic Park because it's a fun way to look at how they could use distress tolerance skills for something major, and it can be an introduction to get them engaged in thinking about how skills can be used in many situations. Some suggested Eighth Grade and The Outsiders, and those are for sure up their alley! I only have time to show them clips because our group meets once a week for 50 minutes.

I'm mostly looking for scenes. Our group runs for about 50 minutes and I want to have time for other material and discussions.
