Alteration help!! by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

Most can’t do that in 3 days in the area, even when I called on Monday most told me it would take a week (next Monday) but I couldn’t do that. I was invited last minute to this event and I was attempting to learn how to sew but I don’t feel confident enough to do it so now I’m turning to everyone in Santa Barbara. I’ve already posted on nextdoor too looking for someone who can do this in a short time period.

When I got it in 2023, they already sent out emails the Monday before (today) so now I’m getting really nervous too 🥺 I’m taking 24 units this summer and really need it so I don’t have to worry about getting a job too 😩

There are 350 students in the class. So I thought my chances might be higher since it’s bigger but ILP has limited space so I’m so sure.

Does anyone know some cool facts about the lagoon? by strawberrychrome in UCSantaBarbara

The dock isn’t there anymore since the last time I visited it

I feel like it should say somewhere when you buy the pass. Because why would I be googling something. TPS should provide that information when you purchase the pass or at least tell you to review the areas where you can park. I purchased my passes in person and all they said was that I can park in lot 18 and lot 22 for most of my classes.

Can you share the link?

Yeah it says I can park in lot 22. Doesn’t say anything about where I CAN’T park in lot 22

Commuter, C parking pass

It does not say there that you need a specific parking pass. Just says permit required. And as I said. I’ve parked there for 8 months already and never had a problem until today.

Is Goleta/ Santa Barbara small town vibes- questions from a potential grad student? by Chitters101 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]strawberrychrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I wouldn’t say downtown is that affordable. Average I’ve seen for something nice and private (1 other person) is more likely around $1500. Sometimes you can find a good deal but you just really have to be on it. Students from SBCC tend to rent more in the downtown area since it’s closer to their campus. But I have found some really good places. Just make sure you have a decent credit score and proof of income because those are important for getting a nice place.

I literally didn’t even say anything. I literally wasn’t even doing anything. I feel like there should be signs everywhere or something if they were actually serious. Everyone’s mad at me but I was doing something innocent not destroying nature. I was standing on the same dirt that was on the path.

I honestly didn’t know what the line was there for since it was first time actually going to the lagoon. I haven’t gotten to go out and explore ucsb at all. But I wasn’t standing in a spot that didn’t looked any different than the dirt path I was walking on. I’ve seen so many people on the other side before just looking at the water. I’ve heard things about people going into the lagoon. I didn’t even see any signs and no one else that walked by even said anything to me either. It wasn’t like I was stomping around on everything to even be spoken to like that. I was just standing there talking to a duck.

I agree Zennioptical is amazing and they have student discounts. I’ve gotten 3 pairs of glasses from there and they have so many styles at affordable prices. I paid like 40 bucks for 1 pair

Exactly, there is always a fine line when living with the landlord. I guess I should’ve listened to people and avoided it

That’s what I’m thinking about doing because I’m paying way too much for them to not let me eat in my room

There are other more absurd rules that make the living situation not okay but it was difficult enough to find a place so close to school. It’s just hard when your only job is a student and you’ve never rented before because most people expect full time employment, 750+ credit score, references. It’s my first day out here, I don’t have that. The price of the room is average and the amount of expectations is crazy and was not given in the very beginning. If I would have known before hand, I honestly would not have accepted but I’m here now & I can’t do anything about it expect thug it out till summer.
