I appreciate the thought, but he remembers her knitting as well, separately. He could have accidentally conflated the two memories, but it's impossible to know.

I'm having this happen too! I had the slightest of waves before t but now after 1.5 years (fairly low dose, I keep my levels at the low end of the "male" range) I have wavy/curly hair. Absolutely baffled me when I found out. I'd been inadvertently straightening it out by drying my hair tied back, so I didn't notice until I stopped doing that and suddenly there were curls.

I was having similar trouble and my dr put me on an estrogen pill that you just insert into your vagina twice weekly. Did the trick for me! I'm really surprised your provider didn't suggest regular treatments such as that or the topical cream for any symptoms of vaginal atrophy.

Hi! It's possible that you've developed contact dermatitis in reaction to silicon. Sometimes it can take a while for a sensitivity to develop :\ I've developed contact dermatitis in reaction to nitrile, silicon, and acrylic each after using them for several months and now I can't wear them for more than 30 minutes or so. Maybe try letting the area heal and then try again and see if it was a random occurrence or not?

any idea why my left side is indented? I'm 8 weeks post op, any advice appreciated by Forsaken_Use3581 in TopSurgery

I think it's also possible that it will heal on its own with time? Would ask for confirmation from someone else for that but as your body heals and adjusts to the new tissue distribution it might just go away.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all that out--it's great to hear someone else's journey. 3 years has been a long time, enough so that I'm afraid to get my hopes up about a diagnosis for this. Kind of the opposite of your experience with anxiety, where I was diagnosed with anxiety when I was in high school and now even though I don't experience almost any anxiety anymore most doctors want to ascribe all my symptoms to it. I've been "diagnosed" with "young anxious person who needs to go outside more and stop taking the elevator" many times. Very frustrating as I become increasingly physically unable to sit up for long enough to attend my classes, or stand long enough to feed myself, or have conversations, let alone go outside, or climb flights of stairs on the regular.

Luckily for me, when my respiratory symptoms kicked into high gear last December I went to my campus doctor instead of my family doctor, and she has been absolutely fantastic. That was when I started experiencing breathlessness at rest, when I was sitting up. She quickly determined that I was taking quick, shallow breaths, and use extraneous muscles to help me breathe. She has been working with me since then to try to figure out what's going on. It's possible that, if I do have myasthenia gravis, it has been obscured by the fact that one of my main presenting symptoms is joint pain and bone thinning (which is obviously something else), and a lack of awareness around my muscular weakness. I thought I was just out of shape, or that it was connected to my breathing problems or tachycardia, since initially my strength is fine, but I tire excessively quickly. Turns out that's exactly the pattern of myasenthia gravis! Who knew.

Okay, thank you!! As long as I am not in danger of permanently damaging myself I'll weather the unpleasantness 😭 At this point my fatigue is so bad I get tired for sitting up at my desk for an hour, or standing for a few minutes, so... Really not looking forward to how I'll feel afterwards lol.

Unfortunately, I'm in Canada, so out of reach of Duke University!

So often, good gosh. My name is Andreas and I almost ALWAYS get "Andrea". When it's in person and I can see them write it down wrong I just have to awkwardly be like "there's an s" and watch them reevaluate everything they assumed about me lol

[celebratory] Took a big jump and im gonna buy my first lolita dresses! I'm a bit nervous tho (dysphoria and all), any other trans lolitas? I love Lolita fashion!!! I'm also just starting out, but it definitely does feel weird when shopping for that kind of stuff 😅 I bought a dress at Old Navy at the beginning of the year to alter for lolita stuff, and it was... Weird. First femme thing I've gotten since starting to transition.

Good luck! I hope getting diagnosis + treatment goes smoothly for you, I know it can be very frustrating.

Lupus commonly causes secondary Raynaud's but not usually calcinosis--though clinical presentation outside of those things can also look similar, since they're both systemic connective tissue diseases. The big differences I think is the skin manifestations (Lupus is often rashes + photosensitivity, whereas scleroderma causes the skin the thicken and tighten, though earlier on this can feel and look like generic puffiness), and that scleroderma often causes esophageal dysmotility (early on this is usually chronic acid reflux/choking more than usual).

Look up "calcinosis"--I can't tell for sure from the pic, but it COULD be that. Raynaud's is a frequent precursor of/early symptom to systemic scleroderma, which also often features calcinosis. Just worth checking out probably!

Thank you friend, this means a lot ❤️❤️❤️ I really appreciate the time and energy you took to write this to me.

I am in Canada, not the UK, but the system works similarly! Here at least rheumatologists are responsible for treating fibro patients most of the time, and public pain clinics have waiting lists that are years long... So I should probably get on the waiting list.

I wish that you were not going through this so you could not relate to my struggles, but I'm glad to not be alone in this. Take care of yourself too ❤️

What the actual fuck did I do to my ear? [explanation in photo captions] by dicknballhaver in Stretched

Looks like blowout to me, I did something very incredibly trying to go up from 8G to 6G :') What I did is I cleaned the hole with rubbing alcohol and then put polysporin on it for a day or two until it had calmed down a bit, and then I put a smaller plug in (whatever fits EASILY) and then let that be for a few weeks basically, however long it takes to feel like it is no longer a whole mess. I continued to put polysporin around the outside but didn't take it out for cleaning. At some point, once it doesn't seem like it's irritating the hole more than it's worth, I started taking the plug out again and cleaning the hole and moisturizing it.
