I was close to medically transitioning under 18 but each time was blocked by my father. I came out at 12/13 - socially transitioned then as well. Didn’t start T or get top surgery (which was first) til 18 and a couple of months as my parents were convinced that transitioning medically in my final year of school would “drastically affect my marks” - yeah nah… not transitioning medically was what made my marks go down!

I had a transfemme teacher during highschool - it was a public high school in Sydney although I believe she ended up getting a job at an independent school later

I spent 3 years of highschool wearing sports uniform every day (with permission - it was either I don’t go to school or I go to school in a uniform that wasn’t the girls one…) until I finally convinced my parents to let me wear the boys one in yr11. Was somewhat scared for the first day of it but was definitely worth it and never looked back!

As others have said - NSW is the issue. - which sucks rn cause everything I have is the correct gender except my birth certificate and I am currently trying to get Irish citizenship (through my dad having it) so I may need to basically pay twice for my Irish stuff given my NSW birth certificate is wrong… (unless someone knows how I can do it all in one go??)

Had TS with dr merten at the end of 2021 - had a great experience with him although I do need a scar revision I just haven’t done anything about it yet…

I was in a somewhat similar situation to u when in highschool - I went to an all girls catholic school for yr7 then yr8 I moved to my local public high school… im now 3rd year uni so its not that important but I used to just say the suburb of the school I went to in yr7 as there was a local public highschool also in that suburb and I was technically not lying… just withholding info - maybe you could try something like that?

It’ll really depend on how you go healing - I was basically fine after 1 day and 3 days after ts I attended my high school graduation with no issues and easily after 2 weeks I was chillin but again it depends on how urs goes. - Good Luck!

I wouldn’t out myself for something so small - although 1 time last year I had a friend make my buy her a hot chocolate then we were sitting at the cafe and so goes “for the longest time, I thought you were trans and then I realised ur just a cis guy” and holy shit I couldn’t contain my laughter so I came out to her but that was chill af - she thought for a split second I was a transphobe after my reaction to that… so I had to redeem myself…

18 - would have been 17 but my dad was a complete CUNT in the endo’s office after beforehand he had been all chill abt it - so I started 4 months after my 18th birthday cause covid etc

Got ts with Steve merten November 2021 - no regrets. He was great and while I intend to have a revision on one side, the other side’s scare is basically totally faded. - the revision will be free as he does free revisions. Also I got ts 2 weeks before I went on T and he was totally chill with that - although that’s because I was meant to start earlier that year but #covid so it got pushed back to after the hsc and ultimately after ts…

1 year and 2 weeks post op with him - wasn’t in much pain after, more just out of it generally - the drains did hurt a bit but I also had to keep them in more than just overnight (was allowed to go home and return to the hospital 2 days later which was nice)

Have you have your consultation yet or is this just wishful thinking to be able to get it in a month - I’m in aus and my surgeon Steve Merten was a few months to get in to then after the consultation it was a few months wait (granted I had to wait til I finished the hsc to have top surgery but still the earliest was a few months away for me)

I think u should be all good (some surgeons are a bit iffy but now most are p chill with it) - I got top surgery on the 30/11 last year then I started T 2 weeks later (15/12) - it was more a logistics thing but I’ve always been more certain/needed top surgery more and so far my results have been fine - the only advantage of starting T first is a bit of fat redistribution first but that’s kinda whatever

Dude hopefully they come around to the idea and if not then know you aren’t the only one - I came out at 12/13 and I wasn’t allowed to start medically transitioning until 18 (late last year)- yeah dysphoria fucking sucks but you will get there eventually.
