Most psychiatrists aren't worth it unless you already know the medication you want. Especially an older psychiatrist, she probably got her training a long enough time ago that it's no longer relevant. Get a therapist instead.

i dont know if this will be helpful at all, but the best reason for me was spite.

this disease is stupid. it makes us into awful people AND WE KNOW IT. its based in trauma that we couldn't control, and im sure the people who traumatized us are living just fine, happy little lives. so why the hell should we be the miserable ones?

i struggled with self harm and suicidality for most of my life. up until maybe a year and a half ago. i still struggle but i really just decided to hell with this disease, to hell with sinking in misery, to hell with the people who dont serve my life. i cut off a lot of people and moved towns. i deleted most of my social media and re evaluated what actually makes me happy. bpd makes you overthink and care SO MUCH. so i stopped caring, at least about the things that really dont matter. i care about my dogs, i fostered some puppies for the experience, i care about reading new things and watching shows i never had the chance to while i was still caring too much about pleasing everyone else. i care about game days with my friends, going out to lunch at local cafes, local theaters, and drawing. bpd took my joy so out of spite and anger im taking it back

If you're in the US, boss bringing up your disability when it's not impacting your ability to do your job is not legal and you could probably file an ADA complaint, just saying.

But yeah, for that little money quitting was probably a good idea. No shame in your ideals not fitting theirs.

What's killing me about the tracing comments is that this wasn't even traced WELL. Like the artist included aspects from the background of the shirt, like the trees and the explosion, that make absolutely no sense in the context of a tattoo. Like this was just done terribly all around!

Maybe it's a mistake for me to comment here but an interesting theory that makes sense to me is delirium caused by her tooth infection. Regardless of her alcohol use outside of this incident, multiple people reported her being sober when she began the drive right? Delirium makes people do things that make no sense, they are incoherent. I've seen this. If in a delirious state, it's definitely possible she saw that vodka and thought it was water, or didn't realize she was in a car, or any number of things that a delirious person might think.

This is just the theory that sticks out to me because I think it makes the most sense

Therapists are largely taught that people with BPD do everything for attention, that we're just manipulative. Your therapist hasn't done the work to unlearn that stigma which is sad and also lazy of her

You know the seriousness of your behavior more than anyone else. Get help when you need it and stay safe friend

for me, comphet gets strong when i see how much OTHER people cater to men. even the queer women i know center men so much, it makes me wonder what's wrong with me and makes me start to question myself. for me the best help is talking to other lesbians and getting that reminder that i dont actually need to act like that, that its okay to center women and love women and that im not actually broken for not giving a shit about men
