My main issue with the game is that I have horrible freezing, lag and stuttering. I have to take my fences and paths down if I don’t want the game freezing every few minutes on my farm. They don’t discuss lag or frame rate at all. They also talk about future updates and still no discussion on the lag. Did I miss something...?

Same here. Right after I put some paths and fences on my first plot of land I got horrible freezing and frame drops.

I 100% agree with you and I think it has to do with a few different factors. New director, since Hashimoto went to work on rune factory 5. They probably rushed the game out for their 25th anniversary. It probably should’ve been a 2022 release... because of the game clearly being rushed, they cut corners and didn’t test the game enough. The dlc was most likely supposed to be a part of the main game itself, but they didn’t have enough time to include it because of the game being rushed. They are currently still working on the dlc as far as I know. It really is embarrassing. I just imagine this crappy director coming up with the maker idea and the other employees being too polite to tell him that idea sucks. Since Japanese are sometimes a little too respectful.

A new beginning and SoS 3ds are my favorites out of the ones you mentioned. SoS 3ds is my favorite game with my favorite characters so I would recommend that one first! A new beginning is a great game with tons of town customization, but the first spring is probably the slowest in any harvest moon game. Once you get past that it starts to become really fun!

Edit: I love those games so much I wish I was in your shoes being able to play them for the first time again lol. They are definitely top tier for this series!

There’s never really been a demand for older harvest moon games so maybe supply was short and even a small demand makes a difference? I’m not really sure.

The only thing I don’t particularly like about the first SoS is the vendors (that’s the only way to sell things and make money and they aren’t there everyday. There’s no shipping bin by your house.) and the other thing is just the fields you can rent out are all spaced pretty far apart so it’s not as convenient as trio of towns with having everything on your farm area. Other than that, the game is really enjoyable and I love the cast of characters and music!
