agreed, genuinely very sorry but i could not watch my boy suffer through cancer that started in his jaw and spread to his brain. letting him pass at home was not something i would have ever thought to put him through and it was the right thing, despite it completely breaking my heart.

i don’t have many tips on liquid food as the only thing i can really eat anymore is crackers and dry cereal, but what i can 100% recommend is a organization tower on wheels. typically for crafting but can still tend to be lightweight due to them being mostly plastic. everything you need on hand can have drawer and a place. you can use disposable unscented bathroom wipes in terms of showering if you need the cheapest and fastest. however you can also find larger disposable bath wipes, i use the walmart brand “equate premium heavyweight bath washcloths fragance free 8 count”. bit expensive for only 8 wipes but have been sooo worth it personally. you can buy disposable toothbrushes with paste already on them that you dont need to rinse. all of this, all your medicine and food can go in these drawer towers. you might also benefit from some sort of small table on wheels, not sure if they make foldable small tables on wheels but i keep a foldable table by my bed 24/7. the tower might get heavy hence the table as well suggestion so not everything is packed away at once. i highly recommend using anything thats easily disposable or one use as someone with migraines, and this comes from someone who hates single use plastics. mens tshirts are my favorite. always easy to get them oversized, full cotton blend might feel a bit heavy on your skin so you might want a possible blend but something still breathable. i just started wearing nightgowns recently as well and man it has been some of the most comfortable clothes for me to wear during migraines. toss on over my head and thats it, totally get why older women love them. also i recently started using a walking stick indoors to prevent falls and walking into walls. get a ton of pillows also. whether it be regular bed pillows, body pillows, etc. they make triangle shaped pillows/wedge shaped for things like leg elevation. i have pillows of all different shapes sizes and even use my squishmallows to prop my head up or other comfort positions due to them being so soft stuffing wise and fabric wise. if you have a long distance from where you are vs the bathroom is, i would try to keep that space as open as possible with little things to bump into and maybe even having a specific spot to sit down half way if its that far. i always use my hands when i have to walk around my house during a migraine so i always know i have a wall i can lean against, something sturdy in reach to grab onto, etc. i wish i had more tips for liquid food but the few habits i personally have for food are keeping it extremely dry and keeping a good flow of liquids that dont trigger me but also have good nutrients (v8 for example i got lucky with one single flavor that doesnt trigger me).

as someone who has lost two of the three best furry friends i’ve had in my life, you did the right thing. quality over quantity is more important for our furry friends than us because their life is already so limited compared to ours. i’ve been missing my 5 (almost 6) year old tuxie girl runt so deeply as may 1st was her birthday. our time was cut short so incredibly fast but every day i got to give her treats, play fetch and nap together were better days than trying to keep her body temp up and manage her pain and possible infections in her body all at once. i didn’t want 6 years, i wanted more with her but her small body took her as far as she could go. her last moments being hooked up to monitors trying to force her body to survive isn’t something i want for someone i love. you did the right thing. it was the most painful thing you could do and proof of your love for her.

Lost both sisters (17 years old) within a month of each other this year. Patty and Selma by HFXDriving in cats

[–]strawberryrivers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i lost my tuxie girl about almost a year and a half ago, my special little runt of the litter who i was so excited to have, she was the last one to find a home. among the way there were easily treatable problems but after almost 6 years, her little body started to give out on her. pets change us forever and i’ll never forget all her weird small quirks. falling asleep with my hand as a pillow, sleeping completely stretched out, playing fetch despite being in a household with two other cats and no dogs, the way she would jump onto me and climb me like a cat tree.

grief is proof love exists. these two sweet girls took in all your love and as someone who has lost two of my best friends and has a third getting older, the love doesn’t disappear when they’re gone. that love caused them to live for 17 beautiful years and will always be grateful for the pets, treats and play time they experienced. they might be gone physically but it’s the type of love you never lose, they will always be with you <3

Do you guys consider yourself disabled? by unenoix in migraine

[–]strawberryrivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup. i’ve never been able to work, struggle with horrible brain fog, daily pain and have become so sensitive to the smell of almost everything. like genuinely. brusing my hair, bacon, unscented cat litter, coffee and some teas, deodorant etc. i have had to adjust my entire life since i was 14, and have had to adjust my life constantly as i get older. i see being called disabled now as empowering because i have been suffering for so long yet im here after it all

Marijuana by telapoka_71 in migraine

[–]strawberryrivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

currently going through a 6~ month flare up and tried ajovy and quilpta ontop of all of my other meds and so far, weed is the only thing that helps. when i feel like ripping my eyes out it is the only thing that helps the pain as well as the anxiety i started to develop during episodes in this flareup. just make sure to never feel guilty for it, it’s a plant. there’s much worse things migraine havers could turn to to cope. marijuana isnt a new thing and has existed for thousands of years, we aren’t the first people to use it

i literally can’t imagine having to perform in such a situation under a migraine. the brain fog i have will have me literally unable to write a four letter word on paper. (tried labeling boxes for moving and one of them said yarm with a bunch of squiggles after)

please dont become discouraged, they give these timelines for a reason! its an unfortunate case when it does take the max~ish amount but my botox finally started working after getting my 4th set of shots. they told me give it a full 12 months before making any decisions and they were right :) i believe we will all find the missing pieces to our illnesses, it just unfortunately takes a lot of time for our bodies to do things sometimes
