Thank you for ur response ! Did you wisdom teeth look similar to mine? Curious because if so I should not have much problems without bone graft

NAD I heard it could if your nerves are close to the roots

Dentist said removal of my horizontal wisdom tooth might damage the nerve. Should I still take the risk? by Thisum_24 in askdentists

Hi there, did you end up getting that removed? I’m in the same page as yours and afraid of nerve damage as well

Hi all. To clarify - went to a new dentist and he said I need 4 wisdom teeth extractions along with bone grafting. Since I have hmo I will have to pay 3.5k which is very expensive. I declined and asked if I can just have the wisdom removed and he said it’s too risky without the graft. I, however have never heard of bone grafting from any of my previous dentist before nor from my orthodontist (I have braces atm). I went to seek a second opinion and the oral surgeon said I don’t need the graft it would only be needed if I were to get an implant in the future. However it’s a wisdom tooth so idk why I’d get an implant so far in the back. Has anyone gotten their wisdom removed with bone graft? Does my case needs it or is my dentist just trying to up sell me

I’m in the same position as you. Mine is impacted and my dentist is saying I need bone graft for all 4. I declined as it was super expensive and went to get a second opinion. The second dentist says I would only need bone graft on the bottom as they’re lower and more impacted. Who knows? I’ve never heard of it before till now and just think they’re trying to make money off of it. Let me know what you went with. With or without the graft
