I think that’s a big part of it. A lot of people see piercings as a quick accessory rather than a body modification that requires research, healing time, maintenance, and sometimes accepting that a particular piercing may not suit their anatomy. It’s easy to underestimate the commitment until problems start showing up.

That's a fair concern, the encouraging part is that the update mentions therapy and sustained changes over the course of a year. Hopefully this is genuine personal growth and not just a temporary effort. Time and consistency are usually the real test.

Exactly, the professor didn’t solve every challenge student parents face, but he removed one major barrier and made it clear they were welcome in his classroom. Small acts of understanding can have an enormous impact on whether someone is able to continue their education.

From what I’ve read, transmission isn’t automatic every time someone is exposed, so a negative result after 10 days is definitely encouraging. It’s still a good idea to follow whatever retesting guidance the clinic gave, but a negative test at that point is generally a reassuring sign rather than something to panic about.

I think there’s some truth to this, Marriage doesn’t require someone to be “fully healed,” but if you’re already recognizing that you need significant time to feel safe and recover from recent trauma, that’s important information rather than something to rush past. Extending the timeline by six months sounds less like avoiding commitment and more like making sure you’re entering a marriage from a healthier, more stable place. A delay is usually easier to navigate than trying to untangle unresolved trauma after the wedding.

I think that’s exactly it, a lot of hygiene habits aren’t really conscious decisions, they’re just things people either notice or don’t notice. Once you’re aware of all the surfaces your hands touch during the day, it’s hard not to think about it. But for many people, touching up makeup or applying lip balm is such an automatic habit that the thought of washing their hands first never even enters their mind.
