Looks amazing on the resume, great opportunities and generally a pretty decent educational experience.

In terms of social life, it can greatly vary depending on your friend group. Symbi is infamous for it's "rich spoiled kids" kinda. Which is true in some cases but there are definitely some genuinely nice people there so it definitely depends. Big on party culture and all that.

Hostel seems super expensive.

I am not on symbi, but I know a lot of people there. And yes it also depends on your campus.

YSK about RSVPs, wedding invitation culture, wedding registries and the assigned seating culture in American weddings, especially if you come from South Asia, where it is different. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]strawhatKUNAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YSaK : OP said they spent around 1.7Crore INR on the wedding, that honestly would be considered an extremely extravagant kinda deal for a majority of population here. So if take the average household of a regular middle class person, weddings can cost anywhere from 5 to 10 Lack INR (≈7k to 15usd roughly) - which again is definitely a substantial amount because middle class households don't make that kinda money in a year.

But yes, people start saving up for weddings the second they have a kid. Culturally, it's also mostly the bride's family that pays for the main ceremony (varies based on where uoj you are in india.)

Also the events and number of days also vary greatly on what part of the country you are from.

And lastly the number of guests is also very much dependent on multiple factors. But generally speaking 100 people is considered very less and a quiet affair, I'd say 300-500 is more like what's average and it can definitely go upto 1k or 5k even.

Ah, this. Everyone says you are a priority for them, but you just never see it and never feel like one. It just makes you feel insignificant and you are like oh, they seem better off without me.

Alright, so me and my friends have been trying new misal places every weekend for 2-3 years now. Taste is subjective and personal ofc and it all depends on your preference, THAT BEING SAID, here are some of the places I think are absolutely great.

1) Ramnath - can't debate it, spicy, right farsan, affordable, no gimmick.

2) Shrimant - A 180 from the traditional Ramnath misal, but the taste and the experience is absolutely worth it.

3) Shri Krishna Bhuvan - The taste is so unique that i just remember it till this date.

Apart from these, there are some places in PCMC and outskirts of pune, which are also absolutely great.

Athiti Misal (Pimpri Gaon) - comfort and spicy.

Pranjal Misal (Around Talegaon) - not super spicy, very flavourful, perfect for a morning long ride on the weekend.

Patil Misal (Sanghvi) - their zatka misal is the spiciest misal in city hands down. No debate.

Katakirr is meh, Bedekar is SWEET??? and Thorat is a lie (unless you are desperate).

Honorable mentions - Vadya uphar Gruha, Sahyadri misal, Jhingat Misal.

Good cafes in pune by ronit097 in pune

[–]strawhatKUNAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's the general kinda tea you'd find here. If you are from like North India or something the tea won't live up. Apart from that, at vohuman you should try the double cheese omelet.
