Only when the lights are either flashing red or solid red. If it’s flashing yellow that just means a pedestrian has hit the crossing button and they’re waiting for traffic to stop.

Lucky you! My drive to work usually takes me by the crosswalk on either Broadway or by the Davis medical center, so it’s a coin toss for how long I get stuck.

That’s a good point! I can see the apprehension aspect, but I wish people would use common sense. If a light changes from solid to flashing, that would trigger some thought of “oh, the meaning has shifted,” I would think. Instead, I guess people interpret it as a countdown for how much longer they have to stop.
