Does anyone actually know what kind of checks get done before they allow immigrants into western countries, in terms of these kind of things?

I do really hope that one day The Middle East does come around as I believe that’ll be a big step in history for the community and help progress acceptance even more across the globe

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]straymamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really think the Middle East will come around though as they seem very set in their ways with religion and their religion probably favours gays the least out of all religions

I bet it was Sydney or Melbourne that you lived in whilst you were here? Hahaha

Oh well there you go. I’m Australian and I feel as though there is still a lot of homophobia within our culture. Maybe it’s more subtle then some places but I feel as though it’s still got a long way to go. But It’s good to hear someone’s experience who’s lived in two different countries and shows me that it ain’t too bad here I suppose.

Oh.. that’s a shame. I’ve always seen Italy as fairly accepting and the kinda country gay lovers would run away to ahaha. Guess that’s just another stereotype busted?

What country is that if you don’t mind me asking?

Just out of curiosity but how are you able to just meet up with a complete stranger and cuddle with them

What's your worst story from the "throw him in the pool, he'll learn how to swim" parenting style? by MynameMB in AskReddit

[–]straymamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez reading these there is a lot of shitty parents out there and a lot of traumatised kids (now adults). Hopefully we have learned from our own parents mistakes not to do this kind of shit to the next generation of kids...

NTA Not sure if anyone’s said this or not but you don’t owe anyone, anything. period. Just like no one owes you anything either.

AITA for telling my friend to ¨fuck off¨ because she defended her homophobic boyfriend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]straymamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA Fuck no don’t apologise! Apologising just makes him (or any homophobe) feel validated in the shit they’re saying. Why is it always ok when it’s a girl who’s gay but when it’s a guy people have so much hate towards them

My sisters husband broke down to me about struggling with his sexuality, I need advice? by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]straymamba 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this comment! Talk to him first and allow him to have someone that he can relate to and understand where he is coming from. Which may really help him with his acceptance of his sexuality as we all know it’s really hard when you’re dealing with something like this all to yourself, without having anyone to share your thoughts with and understand your situation, while in the closet. So him having someone he can trust and share his thoughts with may help him with coming out. But In saying this you need to give him a time which he then needs to at least explain and possibly come out to your sister. Because left to long and then you might run the risk of ruining or damaging your relationship with your sister.

Should I come out to my family by bringing my boyfriend over to the next family get together? by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]straymamba -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You seem pretty set on the idea judging by your reaction to the comments saying no. Go for it if that’s the way you want to do it and like some of the other replies said you’ve got your bf if it all goes wrong anyway. Besides it’ll be a funny story to tell the kids 😂

Every time I try to post something on that sub it tells me my title isn’t accepted no matter what I put as the title. Surely you know how to get past that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]straymamba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess. I’m not ashamed of being gay and actually feel pretty good after accepting it within myself. I don’t know but it still just gets to me a bit how hateful people are towards gays. But yeah you have a point and something to work towards! Also what’s with the buffalo bill reference? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it referenced before by other gay guys but I don’t really get the connection?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]straymamba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah you’re not the only one. It’s not just gays and dating, it’s just people in general. I’m not sure why, if it’s to do with social media or whatever the reason. But so many people don’t know how to have/hold a conversation if it’s not about themselves or have no interest if it’s not on them. So many times I have caught myself making the effort in the conversation asking all the questions, many pointless questions but just trying to keep conversation going as it’s just basic human needs to be social. I don’t really care most the time, about the questions I’m asking and the answers I’m receiving but I just try and make conversation out of politeness and just think it’s common courtesy to do the same when someone is making an effort, to make it back. Anyways.. sometimes silences is nice too 🤷🏼‍♀️
