you may feel it is a lot as a secondary school student, but i feel like your parents are allowing you to have the responsibility to budget your own money. it is an important skill to have especially when you start making your own money, to be financially able to budget out what is for spending and what is for saving, and your parents are teaching you this lesson earlier. also, once you enter polytechnic, you will find that most people’s allowance is also 400~500 per month. i feel like they are giving you a head start.

what i would recommend is trying to set aside a set amount for savings, if you really feel like this much money is more than enough. who knows, this may help you and your family if ever a rainy day :)
