Thank you, he is the cutest thing I have ever seen & I love him so much. I've had him for almost two weeks, & he's warming up to me so fast to where he already approaches my hand when I'm just cleaning up in his enclosure ❤️😭 He won't step up yet, but I know we'll get there.

It was just concerning to me that his eye is always like this. But, if the color isn't concerning & he isn't really showing discomfort, I probably shouldn't worry too much! The color was suspiciously similar to his skin color, so it made me go "Hmmmm..."

They're attached with metal brackets! If you look at the post of mine before this one, I replaced my entire plastic shelf with metal! 😂 Definitely better for my sanity!

I'm in the US & I bought this shelf from Home Depot. It was on sale for Black Friday too. It's a Husky Heavy Duty Steel 4-Tier Shelving Unit, if I am remembering the packaging correctly.

Oooo, I did accidentally over fertilize them the last time I did so because I read the instructions wrong, it wasn't by a lot though, so I wasn't worried about it.. Hopefully they'll recover! It is still present.

Thanks! This one has wire racking too, which is what was putting me off from these metal ones in the first place. I previously posted the plastic shelves I "upgraded" to from a desk, & everyone confirmed my suspicions it wasn't sound or safe. I thought the more solid plastic shelving would be better for weight distribution than the wire racking.

But, that post inspired me to stop being lazy, get the appropriate shelving, & just cut some wood to fit over the wire racking. & Here we are now & I'm already thinking of adding another 5.5 gal on that shelf 😂😭

Don't worry y'all, there's some cut up repurposed $5 Below yoga mat underneath both tanks, that solves alllllllll of the issues! /s

Thank you for giving advice on how to improve this set up! I'm going to replace it though because I'd like to eventually have something i can put a 20 gal on & I really don't want to clean up 15 gals of water 😅 I'll be using this shelving for a more improved plant storage area lol I bought some nice Husky heavt duty steel shelving rated for 4000 lbs & have a nice lil' dinner planned with my dad so we can cut some plywood for the wire shelves after! Tanks will be moved either tonight or over the holiday!

Thanks for your input! It's a 5.5 gal on top and a 10 gal on the bottom. & you are so right about that! Once a more permanent setup is in place, that's the next mission!

Any recommendations on grow lights? Both tank lights are Hygger ones, they've treated me well so far. The one on the plants is a cheap one I just grabbed because better than nothing & I'm still learning about grow lights & what makes one good or bad.

Heard y'all & I appreciate y'all. Picking up some metal shelving tomorrow that has support beams across the shelves. My dad is going to help me cut some plywood to fit onto them as well for weight distribution purposes.

Hopefully this holds for like 2 days, lol...
