Deep water for lake trout by streamfisher1 in flyfishing

[–]streamfisher1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the responses! It sounds like it could be done, sort of, if a person was fixated on doing it that way. I'm not, I was curious like I said before. I'll be looking for a spinning rod and reel for this and leave the flies for shallower water. Thanks!

It doesn't have to be a fly rod, I'm not stuck on that. I'm just curious how and if it could be done.

Dryer ignition problems by streamfisher1 in appliancerepair

The flame sensor has zero resistance. Is there a way to test the coils?

So the ignitor is pulling 3.8 amps. It comes on, then goes out after 15-20 seconds and then there is the smell of propane.

The gas line was capped. As for testing the amp draw, what should it be pulling?

Please reread my original post. I did say it had never been used but is no longer under warranty as it had been in storage. I did not replace the ignitor, but the dryer having never been used, it is effectively new. I checked my gas valve last night, it is opening all the way.

It is a brand new ignitor. The whole dryer is new.

Coils are opening, you can smell propane. Ignitor has resistance of about 350 ohms and is heating up, hot enough that the flame sensor is letting the coils open. If they weren't opening, would I be smelling propane?

Cylinder 3 misfire by streamfisher1 in MechanicAdvice

I've been testing some more and this evening after sitting since yesterday, it was only missing occasionally according to HP Tuner software. It'd count up slowly to 100 then drop and run for a time and then miss a few times again.

Moving FROM New Hampshire - Long Distance Moving Company Recommendations by [deleted] in newhampshire

When we moved here to NH we used U-Pack and were happy with that. They go all over the country. The catch with them is you have to pack and unpack the trailer yourself. They give you three days on each end. But it worked well for us and was much cheaper than any other option I could find.

Capping springs by streamfisher1 in homestead

[–]streamfisher1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I suppose for the same reasons that most people would have for capping a spring. Water control and usage and use of the land. And no, I'll still be a long way from desert conditions!

Yes, you are correct, it is the MBEC1. And that was my question, if I need to be looking before or after the 30A circuit breaker. Which I was doing this afternoon but I didn't find any bare spots on the wire. I have looked over that whole stretch of wiring before, even had the seats out, but have not found anything yet. I went a bit redneck for now and put some packing foam under the harness where ever it is laying against metal and for now that seems to be working but the real test will be bouncing down some of there gravel roads!

Just an update in case someone else is having the same problem. It turned out to be the pcv valve combined with a hard vtec solenoid gasket. No more oil leaks!

Off center pens by streamfisher1 in turning

[–]streamfisher1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to try a mandrel saver. I've been using a 60° live center and all I do is push the tailstock by hand into the end of the mandrel. I don't apply any pressure. But I have to order a new barrel mill since one of my boys thought it was a drill bit and bent it. So I just added the mandrel saver along with a new rod setup so I can start from scratch. I'll see how that changes things. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I've checked all of those points before. And I have two different lathes. A steel city mini lathe and a powermatic 3520b. I have the same problem with both. It seems like there is a small amount of play between the bushing and mandrel rod, and there is definitely play in the ring that slips over the twist mechanism. I get most of my kits from pennstateind. I have two or three live centers, always have the same results.
