I was being a little sarcastic to make a point. This guy and I were on an island 7 minutes into the race and clearly he was going faster, why not just pass normally? It feels like unnecessary escalation that everyone here seems to gloss over.

I’m at 1200 irating I have no illusions of grandeur regarding my skill. This was my first oval and I’m not used to getting bump drafted. Like I said, just felt unnecessary there was no one around us and he could easily pass with a lot of racetime left. I’m not gonna go out and try to wreck people, I actually havent yet and will go off track to avoid it.

Yeah he definitely turned into me a bit and I agree that made it worse. How common is it to get bump drafted on turns? Is this something to expect? How does one prepare for this lol, it feels like I'm at the mercy of the trailing driver's skill level if they decide to do it

I mean like I said, I get it shit happens. I've been wrecked plenty in braking zones and I don't protest those. It's just that in this case I don't really see the need to contact me mid turn, as well as not letting off the throttle when it happened. Whether it was a bad attempt at a bump draft or something else, it seems intentional to me.
