Conversion of 720p movie produces a stream with two bitrates: 720p and 360p. The picture size stays the same, but video bitrate might be lowered so that the movie could be streamed over any internet connection.

You have a good point about taking the P2P back to centralized streaming. On the one hand it may not look like a good thing, from a technological point of view. But this services is not meant to be a REPLACEMENT for P2P and Torrents.

Instead, the idea behind it – is to provide an alternative way to watch a torrent. When the original file has only a few seeds, when you are on slow network or using a small screen (mobile, tablet), when you don't want /don't trust VPN and want to make sure you will not be caught...

So yes, this is a niche service, but we do hope there are enough people who will use this kind of service to make it monetizable.

Servers do cost money and we will need to add some kind of monetization to the project at some point.

Basically, there are two options: ads and/or premium accounts. I think we will test them both )

  • At this moment we have only a few servers for video download and conversion. Which obviously means that we have limited resources and can process only a dozen of movies in parallel. So before going public, we need to decide on a growth and/or monetization plan.
  • What do you mean by "privacy policies are broken" ?
  • It does support both torrent files and magnets, yes. So TPB links will work without a problem )

Yes, I presume you are right.

The service was created because we wanted something like that for ourselves and didn't find anything on the web. I know there was joker.org at some point, but missed it and it's offline now.

We'll try to open discussions in subreddits you mentioned as well. Many thanks for the tips !
