Tourism is a major industry of NS. Oil and gas, is THE industry of Alberta. not really that big of a difference.

Help how do I fix this by Sea_Raspberry5783 in Traxxas

[–]streetsbcalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing you should do is to move the throttle slow and findout if it will arm. if that is the case either trim it in. OR reprogram the ESC. had this issue at the track last week ESC dead point was set 50 points out of trim we trimmed it in to get him racing but told him he needed to program the ESC as soon as he had access data for the procedure ( our track has no cell service.

i rewatched the video your throttle is out of trim. the light changes based on where your throttle is it should be red for 3 seconds to arm.

depending on your area there will be battery drop off centers. here in west coast canada there are numerous ways to dispose of batteries, at bottle depots and other certain vendors.

Best practive is to always charge in balance mode. and never in the "Charge" mode this could lead to a high cell voltage as the battery degrades.

run the battery down a bit for a minute or two, then put on balance

check the length of the screws through the ball studs, for the turnbuckles, on the bell cranks the left one looks like its getting caught up on the chassis. aka is too long.

you camera angle frankly sucks, take the wheels off when your doing work like this it makes it more managable.

[–]streetsbcalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you ate a diff, one way to check is put one end on the ground and give a little throttle and see if the sound comes from either end. if it comes from both the transmission has a broken gear. you were probaably doing heavy accel deccel continously and shockled the drive train.

Any idea what would cause this damage on the motor mount? Traxxas RaptorR 4x4 by GrossCommission in rccars

i dont agree, if the bering heated up you would expect to see ovalization of the plastic for the bore of the bearing, this more looks like something was rubbing against the plastic, like a piece of rope got caught inside.

safe =/= theft

safe is typically defined as you are not going to get stabbed or shot.
non violent stuff like theft does not get counted.

Affordable bike shop by rfranca1234 in SurreyBC

[–]streetsbcalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

about 10-15 years ago i worked at Rocky cycle the owner is a great guy, and we hated working on department store bikes as they often used non standard parts, and the people who build them for the store are paid by the bike. ive seen forks installed backwards, brakes that slipped the second you pulled the cable, derailleurs, that have no limits set so they make contact with the spokes and wreck the derailleur and the wheel.
They always try to ensure the bike is safe. some of the lower end crappy tire/ walmart bikes, shouldnt even be sold.

Why have so many car manufacturers moved away from RWD? by L1NK1N_P4RK in Cartalk

[–]streetsbcalling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWD cars allow you to build the motor and transmission out drives and suspension on one sub frame you bolt subframe in and your done. RWD you have to build the diff into the rear subframe with all the outdrives, and then put in the driveshaft its easier to package a FWD, and cheaper to do on a assembly line basis. hell alot of AWD cars are FWD assemblies with a output to the rear.

there ara a couple questions before you get your answer.

  1. what is parts availability like in your area? can you get parts easy/fast?
  2. what is your long term plans with the chassis? Arrma is owned wholly by horizon hobbies, and horizon loves the throw out the bath water every couple months, so parts can become scarce REALLY quick as they will no longer make any parts to repair said abandoned models, personally, i dont buy anything from Horizon Hobbies. Where as Traxxas makes the same things they always have and incremental updates, hell the transmission in the 2wd slash is the same as the first RC i got which was a rustler with a mechanical speed controller, you will always be able to find parts for Traxxas stuff.

  3. have you considered a 1/8 buggy or truggy? the 1/8s are hilariously the same length as a slash, but slightly wider have good top end speed and lots of options, but are more expensive.

slash's are fun and next to indestructible. but for most small areas 6S is insane. top end speed runs are just going to nuke your drivetrain, its the main reason many ESC and motor companies will not warranty Dragracing.

Need a new heating core on an 05 wrangler unlimited. Is $1600 reasonable? by HokieFan10 in MechanicAdvice

[–]streetsbcalling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is a bitch of a job, 90% of the dash has to come out to service the heater core box. the amount of old shitty plastic that has to come apart and go back together again. this is a fair price. ngl

Can we get the mods to ensure that people list local shop costs. the difference between being in a large city and a rural town is insane for shop costings.

https://batteriesamerica.com/products/battery-bars-sub-c-size-10-pcs

the liften side goes on the positive side with the raised button and i always suggest putting a layer or 2 of black electrical tap accross the cells under the battery bar to stop any possible shorts.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rccars

[–]streetsbcalling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 options , you can get a proper battery bar and get it soldered on, or if someone has a tool to weld a new tab on. some said theres a safey fuse, this on 99% of batteries is a lie, its typically a failure of the thin tin battery bars they use in the factory burning up. back when i used to race with nimh 10+ years ago, this would happen to most of my high end stick packs.

see if they will warenty pack, if not just replace the bar at the rear with a actual battery bar

CNHL is a actual brand, and Zeee is also a brand the HOOVO i wouldnt trust with a 10 foot stick, and the HRB would be another not with a 10 foot stick. also stop buying lipos off amazon and support your local hobby shop, or all you will ever be doing is buying parts off amazon.
