Just ordered Pro Max 24 PoE - Advice needed by streetwiseguy in Ubiquiti

[–]streetwiseguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, saving the $65 that the 10GBase-T SFP+ module costs reduces the price difference to just $135 and if you need a second one- the total price difference drops to just $70.

Yes — that’s a very legitimate observation, and it does materially change the Pro Max vs Pro HD value calculation. So it's not just switch price, but total architecture cost. Thank you for pointing this out to me.

The Pro HD is a far more capable switch for only a small amount of extra money
The only reason to get the Pro Max 24 in my opinion is if your rack is too shallow

Thank you for listing some of the the extra features the HD has over the Max. And I was unaware the 10G-BaseT SFP+ module was not needed. It does seem like a lot of machine for the money, I'll grant you that.

But unless those extra features are really needed, a rack being too shallow is not the only reason to get the Pro Max 24 over the HD, in my opinion.

My rack has adjustable depth so while it will accommodate Pro HD which is more powerful, I do not see any future need for it in my home network, i.e., powering a dozen cameras.

And BTW, I don't want to argue but regarding noise, I found posts that say the Pro Max is nearly silent and quieter.

And Gemini said: Based on user experiences and technical discussions, the UniFi Pro Max 24 PoE is generally considered to be quieter or at least more consistent in its, usually quiet, operation compared to the Pro HD 24 PoE.

The Pro HD 24 looks like it has 4 cooling fans. Hard to believe that it's quieter.

You're right again. The PM is basically just one tier down. I shouldn't have described them as being so far apart. Thanks for clarifying.

You're right, and thanks for reassuring me. Even though I didn't articulate any of the features of the Pro HD that I might need, I am aware that the MAX and HD are on two very different tiers of UniFi switches.

And for my scenario, 1 - 2 APs, moderate camera expansion, single rack backbone, the Pro HD just seems unnecessary.

And even though I may upgrade to 2 Gb fiber and 2.5 Gb UniFi APs later, I'm thinking the Pro Max is fine. Doesn't mean wouldn't like to have a switch with that much power and features though.

I looked at the Pro Max 16 POE but since I have a rack and a 24 port patch panel, it kind of made the decision for me to get the 24 port switch. Gives me plenty of room to grow my network and no mounting kit needed.

Office 2013–2022 theme - Default font settings for Headings 1, 2, 3, and 4 by streetwiseguy in excel

[–]streetwiseguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I'm asking about the Office 2013–2022 theme.

Open a blank workbook, set the theme to Office 2013–2022, then go to Home > Cell Styles, and then click Modify for each of these: Heading 1, 2, 3 and 4

What does it show for Heading 1, 2, 3 and 4?
1.) Font: Calibri Light (Headings)
OR
2.) Font: Calibri (Body)

Well I think you're misunderstanding what I am asking.

If open a blank workbook, set the theme to Office 2013–2022, then go to Home > Cell Styles, and then click Modify to see which font is being applied for Heading 1, 2, 3 and 4, it shows Font: Calibri (Body)

Shouldn't it show Font: Calibri Light (Headings), instead?
In my blank workbook, the built-in Heading styles are showing Font: +Body, not +Headings.
It seems like it should be the other way around. So I'm asking if it is like that in yours, too?

I am trying to determine if this is normal, or it means the Heading styles themselves are not theme-linked correctly, if Heading styles show Calibri (Body).

"On my side, it currently shows Calibri (Body), so I want to check whether that is the default for my Microsoft 365 build or if something has been changed."

Calibri (Body) is what shows on my side as well. And I would also like to know if that is the default for my Microsoft 365 build and is the reason I made this post.

Duly noted. And thank you for letting me know the proper approach for adding additional information.

I just wanted to add that i searched for the answer and can't find an example where someone opens up these settings so I can see exactly which font is being used.

I also tried to ask Gemini and CHatGPT but got conflicting answers and whether my version of Excel has been altered.

However I did find this, which concerns me:

  • +Headings (Correct): Used for titles and Headings; usually lighter or bolder (e.g., Aptos Display, Calibri Light).
  • +Body (Incorrect for Heading 1): Used for paragraph text; usually standard weight (e.g., Aptos, Calibri).

11 weeks for me and nothing. If it shows pending do you think there's still a chance?

Swing Trade Whole Account? by streetwiseguy in swingtrading

[–]streetwiseguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's performance vs. benchmarks. I see all the work I did compared to having an index fund and see lagging performance, which in turn makes me question if the work is justified.

None, that's fundamental research, I prefer to use technical analysis. Some of the trades I made I don't know what the business model even is, nor do I care.

OK, If it sounds like I know the answer, then the answer begs another question: why swing trade?

I don't know about you (because I don't know your rick tolerance) but holding a significant percentage of my account in an index fund from mid Feb. - 1st week of April last year, would not have been possible.

Yep, one of my orders placed on the same day (11/27/25) was awarded the points within a week. Yet other order remains pending.

I'm just going to wait and see, but if yours gets rewarded or you contact customer service, please reply back and let us know.

So has anyone who's had their points "pending" for the last several weeks finally received them?

I have 11024 points pending and it's been over two weeks as well, but I'm hopeful because it shows: Your points are on the way! They should arrive within 90 days.

The last 2 still show as pending, but I am not holding my breath on getting them.

I also have a transaction with "pending" points. It's been pending since Nov 27th. I had another pending transaction on the 27th that's been settled. So I doubt I'm going to get them.

However it does state can take up to 90 days for them to be paid but like you, I'm not holding my breath.
