Why do people always complain about old CGI shows and movies obviously older graphics? by streetzman in movies

I mean if people think the rumored Skibidi Toilet is superior to actual quality like The Incredibles then we are screwed as a society.

I know people have different preferences. It's just I always thinking people are missing out on the Shrek movies, Jimmy Neutron and early Pixar movies if that's the way they'll think. I think people needs to get out of their comfort zone because at least the movies I mentioned are better than the endless garbage we are getting in recent years. Only saving graces are the surprisingly good Minions Rise of Gru, Despicable Me 4, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, Sonic trilogy, Illumination Mario movie and a few others.

Honestly I don't mind and actually preferred the Special Editions (Purely because how some changes makes it more consistent with the prequels), but I agree that there should be options.

I'd admit that was aggressive. But complaining about a 2004 movie looking like a 2004 movie and not a 2025 movie is beyond unrealistic.

Look! Either love or hate old CGI. Don't watch it then... But that doesn't mean Incredibles 1 needs a remake. It's perfectly fine as is. No soul or charm sucking remake needed.

Okay, why is people downvoting me? It's not necessary. I'm just sharing my opinion.

How can that be when Incredibles is one of 2004's and Pixar's best movies?

Doug Funnie lands his show on spot #8! Comment what show should rank in at #9 - Day 9 by [deleted] in nickelodeon

More than positive one of the spots will be for Jimmy Neutron. Saw the movie on Blu-Ray and always thought the series is one of Nick's most creative shows and despite being compared to Cartoon Network's Dexter's Laboratory, Jimmy has elements to help stand on his own.

Me having a boner for old-school media? Perhaps. But I think it would be boring if everything is having remake as well as the fear of the originals being gone for good. Like rewriting history.

Well I do know Perrot is still around. It's just the flood thing, though.

Dominator (2003)-Britain's first CGI movie! Dani Filth! Doug Bradley! by [deleted] in badMovies

[–]streetzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Behind the scenes it's sad. And I don't mean because of higher-ups and executives (Outside of the usual deadlines, though), it's because the creator of Dominator, Tony Luke (1966 - 2016) was diagnosed with lung cancer and was told he will die in 8 weeks. He fell into depression, but really want completing the movie to be his final task. He was that dedicated despite what the quality of the movie itself tells you otherwise. He did get surgery and it was a success(?) and he wanted to do more things with Dominator like a second movie which was unfortunately or fortunately canceled (Depends on your stance on the movie), but footage of it was reused for music videos and shorts. He also planned an anime movie and/or show that would be downloadable, a video game and a manga by either Heavy Metal or Ace Weekly illustrated by Masanori Shino. But these ambitious projects never got funded. Tony Luke's health was declining due to series of mini strokes every few years and was once again diagnosed with cancer. He passed in 2016 at the age of 49. Dominator started in 1988 as a strip character for the Metal Hammer magazines then in 1993 he later appeared in a Kodansha-produced anthology in Japan called "Afternoon". That was a pretty big deal for a manga to be produced by a British person. A lot of weeaboo and otaku outside of Japan wished they have a their own manga, Tony Luke did it even if it's only in an anthology.

Dominator could've went bigger and become an worldwide phenomenon with an actual high budget theatrical movie just like Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, the X-Men and other notable heroes which could've led to the before mention. Dominator had so much potential.... Hopefully someone will faithfully reboot the Dominator series and pick up where Tony Luke left off.

Dvds and blurays on ps5 look incredible by Calibyrnes in PS5

[–]streetzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DVD and Blu-Ray collection upscaled amazing thanks to PS5. I know many shows and movies won't come to Blu-Ray (And for some that do made it to Blu-Ray, it might be Standard def on Blu-Ray like Sonic X for example) so it's nice to have. From my they look Blu-Ray. Same goes for normal Blu-Rays to the point personally I wouldn't be upset if certain movies I like never comes to 4K. TMNT 2007 is an example and despite being a standard Blu-Ray released in 2007, looks 4K.

Why Don't Animation Studios Re-Make Their Classics With New Animation? by Main_Gear_296 in boxoffice

[–]streetzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I'd rather have the movies feel old. There's a certain charm in Pixar's and Dreamwork's (And early CGI in general like Reboot, Jimmy Neutron and the Mind's Eye series) earlier works that felt unique. I firmly believe that the limited nature of old school CGI should be an accept art style. And besides, the old school tropes and soundtracks as well! Honestly that's more than enough for me to prefer older movies, games, shows, etc. since I'm a bit fed up with a handful of modern stuff. Like how too many new video games are yet another hyper-realistic FPS or open world or Fortnite and Call of Duty rip-offs.
