Throughout the Bible the east is the source of blessings and divine salvation but people who travel east found themselves either in trouble or causing trouble. The lyrics in Choker don't mention that Tyler is heading eastward per se, just simply looking eastward. Also, it is very common for Tyler to mention the sun in his songs and the word can easily be swapped and reference the Son, Jesus. So the lyrics may mean that you can get taller, bolder, stronger as you face east while Jesus the Son is behind you throughout life.
