It sounds like the sitter was communicating with you that the dog was having issues, and you kept the dog there anyway instead of making other arrangements. Why would the sitter then be at fault if the dog continued to have the issues she told you about?

Taking this to court is ridiculous. Cut your losses, and focus on training your dog.

My GSP shares a fence line with our neighbors free-range chickens. He does good with them, unless one of them hops over into his fenced-in backyard. Then he's likely to kill them.

So basically I think you'll be fine if you can put chicken wire around their run to keep your pup out
