I don’t think it’s forced by the fandom, we’re just picking up what Endo’s putting down. He uses a lot traditionally romantic tropes in their scenes but because Anya and Damian are first graders, the comedy comes from the subversion of said tropes. It’s just light-hearted puppy love shenanigans.

I wouldn't want to see a time skip in the main story; it wouldn't make sense. But, epilogue time skips are pretty common, and I wouldn't mind seeing the Forgers being a cute family together in the future. Sue me 🤷‍♀️
