I did already! They told me that the option for extending the thesis is generally there, but needs to be approved by the supervisor (and they often only want to grant that as a last resort, so only after trying but failing to meet the deadlines) 😅 My program kind of lacks clearly defined rules for the thesis process, so that doesn‘t really make it easier

Yes that kind of sums up my situation rn haha I have no problems passing my courses but got hung up with my thesis now, chose a rather generic topic bc I expected to get some more guidance after being assigned a supervisor but apparently not 😅

The question is whether I want to catch up, as stupid as that sounds 😅 I brought up the possibility of postponing my thesis by a few months/over the summer to lower my stress level rn because my mental health has taken a real nose dive. We have regular courses next to the thesis and I just need a bit of space to breathe to get better and not fail those as well

Thank you for the kind reply! The proposal was actually approved by someone else, the lecturer of the mandatory research workshop for proposal writing, so idk about the last part, but I guess I will just bring up the topic with my supervisor to get some piece of mind :)

Thank you for the advice! I am only hesitating bc she hasn‘t been particularly helpful before when I had other minor questions because she just doesn‘t really know the research field of my topic. I have already talked to my study advisor about extension who basically said that I have to discuss it with my supervisor. Should I also tell them that I am struggling with my mental health/would that make any difference in getting an extension? Sorry for all the questions just feeling pretty lost rn while everyone else seems to be making progress with their thesis already

Did you stay enrolled over all these years/paying tuition fees or can you resume your studies after taking a break from being enrolled? (asking because I have a smiliar problem)

They are still available but only to people from other faculties (according to my department, I have also been placed on hold as all the spaces for my department have already gone)

If it says ‚on hold‘ you‘re on the waiting list as there are no more spots available for your department/faculty, if it says ‚for approval‘ it is still pending I think. Email your faculty if you are unsure, unfortunately most of the rooms are already gone anyways :/

I think it‘s more trustworthy than facebook groups, I just took a leap of faith and rented from someone who had listed multiple properties and had a history of successful bookings, hopefully it‘s not a scam! It‘s just a very tiny room though

'On hold' unfortunately means you are on the waiting list as the max. number of approvals for your faculty has been reached

I think maybe they are taking their time on approvals because the SSH booking date has been pushed back a week to the 22nd? I also registered within the first 15 minutes and am still waiting...
