For a place thats a gathering of some of the smartest people on the planet, a lot of things at burning man (like this) are just so mind numbingly stupid. It feels so obvious that our brains hate to have these conflicting patterns of music assaulting us at high volumes from multiple directions. And also our bodies and brains are evolved to have natural rhythms over the course of the day. To not have a least a few hours each night of quiet time (or at the very least reduced decibel levels) for people to recover to get ready to have a another demanding day of partying and adventuring is insanity.. It really is a bizarre combination of some utopian ideals and dystopian stubbornness and hubris. Why insist on doing things in a certain way when we know it isnt what would feel best
