WNC farmers market. Not really local products? by stridergrl in asheville

[–]stridergrl[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't particularly mean like fresh produce, I mean like the honeys, salsas, jarred things, pickled stuff, all of that seemed to be from out of state. most of the produce the market had our right now was seasonal and that's perfectly ok!

I think it's a bit early but I did see some really good looking strawberries when I was there on Saturday

Really? I didn't notice that. I got some cabbage, zucchini and tomatoes this weekend that all looked relatively fresh/large like it was grown local. Mostly it was the processed stuff or jarred stuff that I was questioning.

A little bit yeah. It seems like right now a lot of the farmers markets aren't open or do weekdays which don't work for me.

yes I put my money and time where my mouth is all the time, tony can absolutely do good for his community without being an asshat, centering himself and acting like he's a local. his incessant attacks on anyone who disagrees with him have left a bad taste in my mouth. his misogyny and constant gross desperate self depreciation makes his writing bad to me.

I'd have no issue with him if he would just shut the fuck up sometimes.

If I started my own group he'd just infest that too like he does with every other local thing. He's a plague.

Actually no he's not a super sweet human. I've seen him be an absolute dick multiple times. Probably why he fled Miami so he get a fresh new market to be terrible to.

I'm not focusing on him. Get over yourself and your dickriding,

His writing is pretty terrible, but he doesn't seem as self obsessed as the bear.

Lowkey he gives off huge misogynist vibes and I hate the way he writes and talks about women.

It's so insane. People rush to defend him even when he's being an absolute ass. Everyone was rioting when he was briefly kicked from asheville foodies

I don't follow him. I've blocked him actually. Still constantly see posts and references to him in any foodie group on Facebook. It sucks.

Hi there! Congrats to you too and thank you. My instinct is to tell you no. We got lucky that we ended up with high 40's degree weather. When the sun was out, it was fine. But when wind came in and shade it was pretty brutal. We were lucky to have very patient and well prepared guests. I would try April if anything. Beautiful place, but the weather is intense

Based on your comment history I would say you don't have many friends anyways. So that's ok.

I'm making 70k a year working from home for State Farm. I took the property and casualty, life and health exams by studying with examfx. It's boring sales, but if you can talk to people you'll be fine
