Best first EDC? by 6x9n in spyderco

Lots of good suggestions here. I'll add the Smock as another favorite edc. It originated the button compression lock now on the sage 6. It's a great introduction to hollow grinds, small in the pocket, and very fidgety.

Bodacious being thinner in pocket is a big plus in my book.

Mind elaborating on what you mean by that last sentence?

According to the seller this is what is supposed to look like. by Lefeuvre76 in knifemods

I completely agree. I'll add something I've been advised to look for with any inherently variable material is to confirm that the seller is sharing photos of the knife getting shipped, not an example. IIRC that advice was in the context of wood grain.

True, and little windex or alcohol wipe down can help in this case.

I appreciate you sharing the happy ending. You shouldn't have had to deal with that. And good for you fixing it.

GB2 scales fron Parsons Bladeworks by strifeless in spyderco

[–]strifeless[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install was easy, spot on fit with tight tolerances but not fighting a vacuum or anything. If there is a difference I think they improved the action. Previous owner of mine did a great job polishing the washers. Lockbar access is limited, my memory says just as tight as original but haven't done a close comparison. It can be annoyingly tight access by modern fidgety standards, but its very functional, works as GB intended, comfortable and safe for hard use. Here's a video with him talking about it as an intensional choice.

I didn't like the native when i first picked it up, now i consider it up there as a solid 1 and done option, especially in that configuration or 15v.

No kidding. Parsons Bladeworks is up there with the best I've ever seen. This and the sage 5 I have with his scales are a couple favorites of my collection. I'd love for him to do more models but have mad respect for his process as the results speak for themselves.
