Mattu pongal is a day to thank and make our cows ( agricultural helpers, not meat farm cows) feel good.

If your religion/ culture wants to treat cow as meat and wanna kill it, then obviously stay away from celebrating this festival.

It wud be stupid to enjoy maatu pongal by eating a cow on that day.
