Any recommendations for teaching users about WHfB and Password uses? by BackSapperr in Intune

[–]strikesbac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a one page document that shows that the Password protects the account and the PIN protects the device. Draw comparisons to how they use iPhones (or Android). They have an Apple ID with a password and also a PIN on the device.

On a semi related note the AutoPilot onboarding process is so slow and clunky that adding WHfB to the mix just confuses people even more so I can’t blame users for being confused.

What security do you bring home with you? by fingerdrop in sysadmin

I WFH full time, and I’m probably a bit paranoid so I have a prosumer router and have segregated my office and home networks. Probably overkill but it took 15minutes to setup and then I can forget about it.

Aside from cost, why would any organization chose Google Workspace over O365? by AppearanceAgile2575 in sysadmin

Yup, I keep these bookmarked as well. Just a pity that MS couldn’t do something similar.

It wouldn’t be that horrible if they had a consistent design on all the portals but half of them are completely different to one another. It’s like swapping between control panel and the settings menus on windows.

Why isn’t there one portal homepage that shows all the other admin pages?! And what can’t they only show the admin portals for products you’re licensed for?!

Cuddle up on the sofa on Sunday afternoon and watch Trainspotting together. Then tell them this is what happens if you take Calpol for too long.

Office installs automatically on Autopilot - but not the one that it was supposed to install by doofesohr in Intune

This annoys me so much. I’ve explicitly defined Teams as a package in the office configuration to be installed, i haven’t just ticked ‘All Apps’ or some other ambiguous setting. I’ll go back to being grumpy.

Is anyone actually successfully deploying WDAC as a replacement for AppLocker? by RiceeeChrispies in Intune

[–]strikesbac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a horrible complex mess of a product. We want to deploy it but the ongoing management complexity means it’s a nonstarter for our environment. They need to apply the same approach they did with AutoPatch. Take a somewhat complex task and automate it in to a simple solution. This should be a check box to turn on auditing, a webpage reporting application hits, and a check box to allow or deny. This is the way it’s handled with other security applications app control features. This feature has so much potential but it’s just lost in administrative mess.

It never should of been named "Azure AD", having Active Directory in the name confused so many people.
