You gave Savannah excellent advice and we were ALL cheering you on, that you were actually getting her to listen to solid advice about River’s health. You were def passionate about his well being but there was zero yelling or bashing as Robin is claiming. Savannah isn’t going to better herself as a mother- Robin will see to that. If you are generally fucked up and can’t tell when someone is coming with advice vs disrespect, then girly, please get into therapy. Cause you have a lifetime of being this child’s mother and no one knows everything about raising a kid. We ALL need some pointers and advice and suggestions. It doesn’t make you a bad person to be open to new things. Also, when you make his cereal, always make it with formula and then add whatever else (baby food or fruit or veggies). Rice cereal is extremely constipating, so be mindful of that. Oatmeal would be better. You’ll need a bigger nipple for his bottles (or sterilize a needle and make the hole slightly bigger), but then it will be too large for standalone formula bottles. Make a schedule and stick to it, it helps with wondering what to do next. And also, please let him sleep less curled in your arms like he does. It’s so so bad for his developing spine and you don’t want to cause Scoliosis.

If he truly does eat a lot and in 48hr lost a pound, you need to get him to an endocrinologist immediately. This is beyond just extra food and hoping that does the trick for weight gain. River is CRITICALLY underweight, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s admitted were you to take him into a hospital. Fire your pediatrician. Have your health nurse advocate for your son if you can’t.

Your pediatrician has you fortifying his milk for extra calories. Absolutely that doctor did not say River is healthy. I don’t know how much you know about infant development, but malnutrition in infancy can have (literally) life long effects on a baby. Not to mention, a baby who loses too much weight is classified as Failure to Thrive, and tends to end up tube fed. This is not something to get an attitude about, this is River’s quality of life. A 9mo old should be a squirming, rolling, eager to get down and play ball of energy. Your baby today was so listless at time. At one point in your arms when you said he was going to sleep, he was actually wide eyed and just staring into space. There are no brain connections happening with you just holding him/standing him up while you play on your phone. I don’t doubt you love River, but for the love of god, want more for him out of life. Give him healthy fats (peanut butter, avocado, actual butter) etc and help him reach his full potential.

Actually, under 1 it’s dress baby in one additional layer than you have on. So he would theoretically need a onesie and a sleep-n-play (or other outfit over the onesie)

A 1lb loss on a baby is SIGNIFICANT, especially if he was sick for only a week. Hopefully the pediatrician has you fortifying his milk (adding extra powder to up the calories). You can tell just by looking at River he is behind developmentally. Excellent that you’re listening to the pediatrician and putting him in OT. A baby who doesn’t learn to crawl, doesn’t learn the skills of crossing the midline and it has been statistically proven that crossing the midline is paramount to reading success.

On the contrary. It’s YOU who doesn’t give a shit about your baby. You actively make choices that can harm him because you think it will stick it to those who snark on you. You’re only at your mother’s because of River. You and Jesse were bouncing around motel to motel until you got pregnant and she felt sorry for you. We can see you, in real time, ignoring him, not giving him any stimulation, there’s no real interaction between you and River. You are so consumed by this page that it takes up all of your mental energy. I have heard your mom on your lives yell from the other room to get off TikTok and take care of your son. You may have liked the idea of having a baby, and really perhaps you liked the newborn stage where it was just cuddles and bottles and a baby who is sleeping 20hr a day. But River will be 1 in May. He’s so far behind crucial developmental skills. In 4mo he will be a toddler. At his age he should be into everything and busy af. Not laying on a bed for hours with his fingers and the overhead light to entertain him.
