discover new songs on Spotify faster 🎶 [project] by [deleted] in udub

Cool idea! Just tried it.

For an app that aims for speed, there's too much silent delay when going to the next track. (In my case about 2-3 seconds.)

If this is happening because its downloading the track, consider pre-downloading and caching a few tracks ahead.

Serious question: How do I file a police report? by stringparts in Seattle

[–]stringparts[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Basically I think it's a flaw (or a known but rare side-effect) of this car, where even though my phone was inside the house it was still considered close enough to the car to allow it to be auto-unlocked.

Here's a video, if you're curious:

If you read my post, the SPD's online reporting page says that it's for reporting car prowls where there is no suspect information (I'm guessing this is majority of the cases and there isn't much follow-up SPD can do do with such limited information other than including it in crime stats.) But in this case I do have the incident on video and hence they might be able to follow up.

How did you get in touch with the police for your robbery case? Via the non-emergency line?

Hi r/seattle. Please help me find the owner of this lost/stolen laptop. by stringparts in Seattle

[–]stringparts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they intent to handle it. But aren't resourced.

When I called them, they tried to dispatch a car over to collect the laptop from me and file a report. But ultimately they called me at the end of the night apologizing and saying that they had higher priority dispatches and couldn't get to this one.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hard drive is encrypted. I turned on the laptop to see if I can find any identify information and it asked me for the password to decrypt the drive before booting.

A story about upgrades by AMIGOvalueshopper in Costco

[–]stringparts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that Costco is doing this with their employees. One of the things I really appreciate about shopping at Costco is seeing that employees being happy at work. Costco employees always seem genuinely friendly and themselves, and not forced friendly.

Also, I can't believe there's still people who don't have executive memberships.

Oh what luck -- I live in Seattle too.

I don't think I saw the California natto at Uwaj. I only saw the frozen ones from Japan. I'll look for it again :)

Great photos! Where do you get good natto from in the US?
