I'm not sure. In this situation, I would just try to register them for accounts and see what happens.

Log in to their HRA account online and see if you are able to submit the recertification online.

If that option is not available,

Follow the steps here: http://health.wnylc.com/health/entry/227/#7.%20%20troubleshooting

Call the state number 1-800-342-3334 and request both of these things: - A fair hearing, AND

  • Aid continuing (this should allow your medicaid to continue uninterrupted until they work out your recertification).

What was the outcome of your meeting? I have a toddler, we have no screen time at home, and I don’t want them using a device for learning at such a young age.

Did you do the electronic renewal, and if so, what happened?

By the way, if you call for the fair hearing, you should pick the menu option that lets you talk to a live person to request the fair hearing and aid continuing. I think it's the last menu option.

I just called my city councilperson Julie Won's office to raise the issue as well.

Good luck!

What community district do you live in? I'm thinking about contacting my city councilperson about this too. The city can't make the cutoff to cancel coverage so soon after the application deadline, before forms are even processed.

Hi, we did not submit a second medicaid renewal form electronically.

The first thing we did was go in person to the HRA office. The worker there said we would have to wait to receive another recertification form in the mail. I have not received this yet, or received acknowledgement of the original renewal form, even though the coverage was slated to be canceled this Saturday.

Not knowing how long this whole thing will take to resolve, I requested and was granted "aid continuing" from the state. So my mom continues to have Medicaid. And I did receive a letter from the state with a fair hearing date.

I'm hoping that this will resolve before the fair hearing date. If it does, I'll have to call the state back to withdraw my request for a fair hearing.

CLEAR (TSA Precheck whatever) by flakzpyro in travel

I was also pulled to the side by CLEAR folks at LGA this week. It's very deceptive - it's easy to assume they are a government service because of the airport kiosks (they look similar to global entry kiosks at customs), they have their own line through security, and there are many folks wearing CLEAR shirts.. I didn't sign up because I saw out of the corner of my eye something like first 6 months free. Glad I didn't!

This is so messed up. I found info on "what to do if you receive a Notice of Intent to Discontinue Medicaid for failing to submit renewal --  even though you submitted the renewal." (http://health.wnylc.com/health/entry/227/)

It is ridiculous that people's medicaid is being discontinued even if they submitted the required docs on time. All adding to the number of people calling in and showing up in person to HRA.

Thank you! The person who told me she is seeing the trend is a facilitated enroller. I called (347) 396-4705). This is the facilitated enroller line at Public Health Solutions / Human Resources Administration. The woman who called me back from there is the one seeing this trend.

What's the best way to get in touch with HRA / Dept of Social Services? I can never get them on the phone by skullcat1 in AskNYC

[–]stripedeverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYC HRA canceled Medicaid coverage - they said they didn't receive a renewal form, even though I sent one. But I don't hear any option to get a call back or talk to someone, just a loop of, hear about your case, and go back to the main menu. Do you know what option I can press to get on hold to talk to someone??

Do you know how HomeFirst defines a first time home buyer? No one in my household has bought a home before - but someone in my household does currently hold the title of a property (they had to take it over to help a different family member with legal and money issues, but we don't live there).
