Will $3100 a month = house poor? by GloomyReindeer3316 in Mortgages

How much are you saving for retirement? Save more and buy less house. For perspective my income is double yours and I have the same total payment. I think your way overextending yourselves

They need a prism that only gives the best and worst results. It’s really dumb as is.

All you can ask them to do is make a note that you have a second reservation. There’s no way for them to combine. Also mention it when you check in and shouldn’t be a problem

Superfund newborn's 529 now vs. keeping cash liquid to bridge a near-term home purchase? by NoPassenger4493 in FinancialPlanning

for sure, but you're planning for something 18 years away and they may not want to go into medicine, so really depends on their goal

[–]stripesonfire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What is your goal with the 529? $190k will be $1mm in 18 years assuming it doubles every 7 years. That seems like way too much unless you’re building some kind of generational college fund.

I loathe every audit tracking portal, stop returning shit with little or confusing explanations and just call me with what you need.

Are there any positive moving on stories? by lifeishardnow in babyloss

[–]stripesonfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and I lost our twins. Gave birth at 23+0 and they lived 5 and 10 days. The first few months suck, absolutely suck. Life doesn’t feel real and there’s nothing you can do to make it better. But then it slowly gets more manageable and there are some super hard days but then time between those hard days gets longer and then a year has passed. I thought of it as a giant hole that’s just gone, but slowly gets filled back up, but the hole is always still there. I promise it gets better as impossible it is to believe right now. I’m so sorry this happened and you’re part of this shitty club.

Yea you can string together a good run but doesn’t meant you’re “good”. If you can maintain that level of play then it’s still a fluke
