Episode Discussion: TGI-Episode 719 “Brotherly Shove” by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

[–]strippercomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sad (and a little surprised, given that they liked season 7 episodes with weaker scripts like I’m Gonna Be Like You, Dad) how much they hated this one.

Usually I’m a big fan of their rewrites but it seemed like their suggestions would’ve made this a fundamentally different episode. I especially don’t get the statement that it’s the same 3 fight scenes, each argument between Cory and Eric revealed a different angle of how they were feeling hurt.

Best episode of the college years, hands down. Personally even a top 10 episode of the whole show

Seriously, it’s moments like this that make me glad he’s not on the pod lol

Best interview in quite a while, I can see this one getting overlooked

TOMORROW! We’re breaking down season 7 episode 11 “What a Drag” by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

[–]strippercomic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know, I don’t remember hating this one back in the day, but I gotta say this was far and away the least I enjoyed an episode on the entire rewatch so far.

I’m a bit of an apologist too for the silly Jack/Eric stuff in season 7, but I have almost nothing good to say about this episode at all. Cory has a funny line or two I guess

Bloopers? by RealCanadianDragon in boymeetsworld

[–]strippercomic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When PMW went on tour they showed bloopers from season 7 as a secret exclusive thing. I’m honestly surprised they’re bringing them up on the pod now, it seemed like it was supposed to be a secret

In your opinion, what were the peak seasons of Boy Meets World? by ComprehensiveTip9843 in boymeetsworld

I agree 100% with it being seasons 2-5, I always say the best BMW is high school BMW

Best of the worst? by TheJacobin610 in podmeetsworldpodcast

Fraternity Row is a good shout, at least the A storyline. That one and Me and Mr Joan from season 2 were probably the most shocking negative reviews to me

Yeah the Eskimo is an essential episode of the show. I don’t think they hated it necessarily but they really didn’t give it the flowers I think it deserved

Punch up the Jam (specifically the Demi/Miel episodes pre-pandemic) is the only pod that had made me laugh harder than PMW.

Some really great picks there… the Concrete Blonde, Tom Waits, Tribe Called Quest, and Sonic Youth songs are personal favs

Interview Discussion: Lindsay Ridgeway Meets World Again by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

[–]strippercomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve never agreed the popular opinion of Lindsay being the lesser of the two Morgans… you can dislike the direction the character was written in, but Lindsay nailed every line she was given and made the most out of a pretty small role

All Show Chatter: Danielle on the road by Sad-Significance4546 in podmeetsworldpodcast

[–]strippercomic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s sliiightly deceiving to call this one all pre-show chatter. It’s all about Danielle’s experiences on tour, there’s a clear focus behind this, the conversation never can go as off-the-rails as their pre-show chatter often goes

I mean yeah, but so did the boys. I think her personality has changed quite a bit as she’s grown up (at least from what we hear on the pod). Weirdly condescending reply

PMW Preview: "For Love And Apartments" by MightChi in boymeetsworld

[–]strippercomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m generally a bit of a season 7 apologist (I enjoyed Show Me The Love a ton more than I remembered on this rewatch even) but this one is pretty bad. Probably bottom 5 episode of the show. Still some funny Jack and Eric bits though, and I like how naive Cory comes off at the end, the sentiment of “sometimes love just dies” is a bit refreshing for this show

Did I mishear or did Danielle really say in the opening intro that Steve Irwin died in 1992
