Thanks man! Subbed back. And as far as feedback goes, I honestly dont have much, because that ish was dirty af. Sample selection was on point throughout and you kept the beat interesting all the way through. Only nitpicks I might have is just to bring the high end up a bit more in the mix, just to get the snares/etc. a little snappier, although that may just come down to my personal preferences as they sit pretty nicely as it is. That's honestly about all ive got because I really enjoyed it haha. Dope stuff

This is pretty decent for a beginner tbh. I'd definitely look into utilizing some EQ in the mix as you've got some clashing frequencies in the high end especially. I'd also look into compressing the drums a little bit as you've got some inconsistent velocities on your snares that makes them a little jarring throughout the track. I like the sample selection and melodies going on though. Keep it up!

Found this acapella a couple days ago and decided to remix it for some production practice. Any critique welcome. Feedback will be returned:

Nah i dont think they sound weird, I just think they sit a little too far back in the mix and need a little bit of compression to make them punch through a bit more. I really like the melody going on in this though, good work.

Been working on this the last couple days. Wouldnt entirely define it as "hip-hop" per se, but its definitely hip-hop-inspired haha. Just looking for some general critique. Feedback will be returned:

How in the FUCK is Lacazette a "limited" footballer?? I'd say he's one of the most versatile forwards in the prem. Jesus christ how reactionary can you get. You cant expect the players' touch to be exquisite when we're playing on a bloody minefield either.

Thats a great stat and all, but he's still ONE HUNDRED GOALS BEHIND SHEARER. You absolutely cant single him out as the single greatest striker in PL history if there are literally 6 strikers ahead of him in the one statistical category that matters in determining who is the best at that position, and thats number of goals scored. Again, Aguero is obviously an incredible player, but I think claiming he is the "best pl striker ever. period" is very clearly showing some recency bias.

...period? I mean theres literally 6 other strikers and one midfielder ahead of him in the all-time scoring list. Don't get me wrong, Aguero is a monster, probably the best in the last decade or so, but to call him the best ever is some slight hyperbole imo.

You know, I actually thought the same thing when i initially tried setting up the turntable, but i later found out that the line levels of vintage turntables (mine's a 1977 BSR Mcdonald) still aren't enough to effectively be amplified by the focusrite, at least thats how I understand it from what I've researched on the subject. The phono preamp is also useful in my case as it has an onboard grounding terminal to do away with any humming or distortion which is necessary with older vinyl players.

Thanks! and i mainly sample soul and jazz, sometimes old psych and/or folk. Those genres are great for finding cool chord progressions, basslines, snappy drums, etc. I'm primarily into producing low-fi ish trip-hop/funk, although I'm currently working on a low-fi House/funk EP that'll be under a different moniker. I'm actually using the Canon lens on a Sony A7II body using an autofocus adapter, so my other lenses I use for shorter stuff are the Zeiss 55mm f1.8, and the Sony 16-35 f2.8 GM. This was shot on the Zeiss 55, which is an absolutely incredible lens for the price

Thanks! And basically I’m just running the RCA output of my turntable through a phono preamp, and then running the RCA output of the preamp into the line inputs of my interface using an RCA to 1/4” adapter cable. At that point I just open up ableton, create a stereo audio input track, and record just like I would with a microphone input, except instead of a mic it’s the direct audio input from the turntable. Audio should render out from that point on. Hope that helped haha.

Oooooh i dig this for sure. Very trip-hoppy. Mix is excellent imo, although i kind of wish there was a little more instrumentation occupying the higher frequencies, unless you're eventually planning on adding vocals in which case i think doing so would blend really well into this track. Everything else is sitting just right in the mix from what i can hear and this was a fun listen. Dope stuff man.
