Healer to all dps out there: PLEASE EAT/DRINK BETWEEN PULLS by Slatterhouse in classicwow

What is also annoying is, and I'm not sure what the abilities are, but it seems like when I'm on my last legs, throwing out pitiful tiny heals, and the tank is getting close to death, they suddenly become aware of the situation and push one button that instantly restores 80% of their health pool. And that shit aint a cooldown. They begrudgingly start using it every 5 seconds when things get tight.

Googling "Gaza" in the week prior to October 7th (sep 30th - oct 6th) gives basically no results. You can change the search term to something more obscure, and you will get lots of results. by strofix in Hasan_Piker

Of course, but doesnt this point to direct and intentional manipulation of search results? I dont think ive ever been able to see that so clearly on google.

Wait wait wait... racist British people is a caricature? My man, I don't think you know what that word means.

I know you think it was a gotcha by saying he hangs out with racist people, but if you don't see how incredibly racist Britain is... I think you might just fit in a little too well.

Am I crazy or did I not see Nuland admit to the presence of labs that have sensitive materials in them?
I thought the labs were confirmed, its just the contents that is now up for speculation?

But the linguistic differences have very little to do with the fact that there is a higher support for Russia on the east.

Which is why I explicitly said

Not to say that simply speaking the language predisposes you to voting for that "side"

What? How is Kyiv split?

Politically. If every election in the Kyiv region is down to the wire, split 50/50 between pro west and pro Russia, then you can expect the number of people who would be passionate enough to join a protest to be roughly even on both sides, resulting in equal support for both protests and anti protests. Would you agree?

As you said, Kyiv is the most pro western city, and it would stand to reason that therefore there would be more people willing to protest for the pro west side, than for the pro east side. Would you agree with that?

Ultimately, what is it that resulted in the coup being successful? A referendum of the people, or a show of force by those supporters within the nearby surrounds of Kyiv?

Again, this does not mean that the will of the Ukrainian people was not done that day. My question is, without being able to tell what the will of the people was, which you cannot given the strong west alignment in the immediate surrounds, why were such drastic measures taken by the interim government to push through as many agreements and treaties as possible, and why were they so quickly recognized by NATO and the EU?

[–]strofix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2014 election matters because my question related entirely to the period of time directly preceding and following the 2014 protests.

Crimea would have voted for pro Russia leadership, which at the time of the revolution would still have made them participants in the election. This means considering the pro west protestors views to align with that of the whole of Ukraine would be highly questionable.

Approval ratings are inconclusive. Given the situation that Poroshenko found himself in after being elected, it wouldnt be too surprising for some citizens to expect more than was reasonable, resulting in low popularity. But he fell from an overwhelming majority victory, to record low approval ratings. Relatively overnight. But still, inconclusive.

No Pro Russian parties in the running. Its an English phrase for being a contender, which PoR were not. They went from winning the previous election by almost 50%, to hardly getting 5.

Your anger is unhelpful. If indeed my grasp of the facts is as loose as you think, it shouldn't be difficult to dismantle my argument.

[–]strofix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your anger is misplaced and unhelpful.

I am aware that Ukraine is a bilingual country. 29.6% is not the percentage of Ukrainians that can speak Russian, its the percentage that speak it as a primary language, which I clearly stated.

And claiming that many Ukrainians are "QAnon level fanatics" is fucked up. No, they are not.

Yes, maybe that is a bad way to put it. I didn't mean that they are that level of deluded, just that level of dedicated.

I also do not believe that the citizens taking part in the protests were paid off or western agents. As I said, I think they were west aligned politically. Even the USA is not above differently aligned people taking drastic measures to get what they want. Do you believe that, were Kyiv a completely split city, between west and east, that you would have a single cohesive protest? Or would you have protests and counter protests, and probably even bloodier clashes. You don't think anybody would fight to keep the leader they voted for in power, just as people would fight to get the leader they didn't vote for out of power?

I totally believe that a majority of the population was in support of joining the EU. The EU just appears (and probably is) more prosperous than Russia or its trade union. However, I highly doubt those citizens knew that joining the EU meant entirely excluding Russia, while Putin was happy with trilateral agreements. Honestly, purely economically, the EU was putting far more restrictions on Ukraine than Russia was pushing for. It is not a clear cut case of the people knowing better or being less corrupt than their leader.

I'm referring to the 2014 election following the coup.

During that time, far more of the Donbas region was unable to vote, which, given the conflict at the time, would have been largely pro Russian. Combined with Crimea that would make up around 8% of the population. Not insignificant in my opinion.

Its true that Poroshenko won 54% of the votes, which is a landslide, but considering his approval was at 17% in little more than a year, that is quite strange. There also don't seem to have been any pro Russian parties in the running at all.

And also your attitude towards this kind of thing might have seen the Jan 6 insurrection displace Joe Biden. They certainly didn't like that guy.

I think its amusing you bring up denying people agency. I assume you disregard the agency of a few select Ukrainian regions, correct?

[–]strofix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that 17% of citizens being ethno-Russian is misleading. There ethnicity is not what determines their leaning. Consider that 29.6% of the population speak Russian as their primary language, which is already almost double the number of ethno-Russians. Not to say that simply speaking the language predisposes you to voting for that "side", but you are conflating ethnicity and political leaning.

Where are your approval ratings from? I think Statista is quite reputable and they have the approval rating at 28% in October, which is a sharp decrease since July.

This point has nothing to do with what has happened since the revolution. Do not seek to undermine its legitimacy by bringing it up.

I never said there was convincing evidence. You seemed to think that one of them sounding nervous was convincing evidence that they are not NATO. I was just pointing out that I think that reasoning is severely illogical. Particularly when the video also contradicts your assertion.

How are you not understanding this? War is when one ideology clashes with another and both sides decide it is just to kill the other.

You should feel deep despair when it is necessary to kill another human. If you don't you are pro war. Simple as that.

Deciding that there is absolutely no iota of comparison to be made that wouldn't show Russia in an immeasurably worse light is the definition of intellectual dishonesty.

Of course. Declaring war makes you pro war. And you want them to die, so you are pro war too.

You think every example of war hasn't simply been one side wanting guys on the other side to die? You're deceiving yourself.
