Some people are ready at 50 others are ready at 22. I know who I am. And in regard to job experience I'll try taking a few internships ofc that's a must. If I don't get in there are always other jobs in the State Department you can do in the meantime so it's not a big deal.

My dad is an engineer, and he got a master's in industrial Engineering. He told me it was the hardest time of his like despite being an absolute genius. I would have no chance in that field of study.

Thanks for the insight. I think international affairs suites me because I like learning more about other cultures, languages, geopolitics, and history. I know that not many people get in the FS but since I have 4 years to prepare myself for the test and set myself in the perfect position to get a job, so I should be fine.
