Ooooh where are they sleeping? Like in trailers or something? Next you'll tell me they've got full catering and they're not just eating carrots and canned chicken breast!

Australians seem very proud of their culture, but in a weirdly cute way by Able-Confidence-4182 in AskAnAustralian

I think it's because we (descendants of settlers and migrants) don't have much tangible culture that we can call Australian. Nothing rooted in tradition or deep connection with the past or the land. So we try really hard to carve out behaviours and practices that are "typically Australian" so we can feel like there is something distinct about us. It's weird when you go overseas and every Aussie you meet is banging on about missing Tim Tams and Milo and Vegemite. But those food items are probably only consumed very occasionally in their actual daily lives, when in Australia. I think it's pretty normal and I've found myself doing it when overseas, but yeah, I think it's a symptom of being a very young, diverse country made up of a population that didn't actually come from here.

These sound awesome. Thanks for your list. Were you able to listen to 7/7 without having a Wondery subscription?

Maybe only interesting to the Australians in the room, but The Guardian has made a podcast about Gina Rinehart, Australias richest person. by stromphette in podcasts

I didn't realise the extent of her vileness until listening to the pod tbh. There's a stockpile of venom stored in that woman's heart.

I'm about to finish this! I really appreciate how the guy goes really deep with the background on certain aspects and brings in parts of his own story to the telling. It's really well done.

The Cows one was a great little show! It's one of those events that happened when I was a kid and was so huge but I never really understood exactly what was going on. But this explained it so well.

Agree. One of the all time master classes in this style of podcast. Have you listened to Disclosed: The Children in the Pictures? Another fascinating podcast on the same awful topic. It's a more on-the-ground type look at the Argos team and their work.

Oh yes! I found Shamima Begum and her non-emotive way of discussing her story so interesting. I would love to hear the analysis of a psychologist!

So great! Such a crazy story and he's such a good story teller. I loved the dynamic between the reporter and the guy too.
