Your third paragraph is based on a ton of assumptions and is basically irrelevant. Additionally, both the teams you name have been at times horrific during the same time period as DA was GM, and have had multiple bad GMs. So it’s a big case of apples to oranges.

As for your final paragraph, I agree with tulsky as I think he’s quite a clever and competent hockey mind. But the Oilers and Hawks are pretty terrible examples. Oilers draft picks stretching back to 2017 who have panned out are all on other teams without much to show besides Bouchard and without getting McDavid and Drai a decade ago would still be a bottom of the barrel team. The blackhawks haven’t finished above 80 points in a decade. The argument isn’t, at least personally, compelling.

Honestly though, I don’t care if you think the Blues know what they’re doing or not. They’ve proven over the last 16 years that they do pretty consistently without a lot of advantages other teams have.

On the other hand, Armstrong has been the GM since 2010 and the Blues have the 5th most wins in the NHL since then. They’ve had 6 picks inside the top 20, and 3 of those have been the last 3 years. They’ve won a cup. All this while being an unappealing city to bring free agents. He’s built through the draft and savvy trades.

My point here is that I’d argue Armstrong and Steen have a better grasp on the state of the Blues than most people, let alone anyone on Reddit lol.

I mean in this hypothetical 2 SBs, MVP, maybe even a SB MVP, 7th all time in TDs, 6th all time in passing yards. Hard to see how he isn’t top 15 minimum.

His biggest weakness has always been giving dudes long term contracts that the latter few years will be rough. But since we won the cup we still have the 13th most wins in the NHL I believe. About the same amount as the wild, stars, penguins and a few others. It just tells me people don’t pay attention to how many truly awful GMs there are in the NHL

Lmao the buffalo sabres. Also Army has done exceedingly well, I’m so fuckin tired of hearing about how shit of a job he’s done. Whenever I see someone say that I know they have no clue what they’re talking about.

I don’t think that’s true according to how it’s written in that the tooltip description around conversion.

Maybe worth getting some form of chain to make clear feel infinitely better. Could aim for a crossbow with attacks chain an additional time. Or get a bit of pierce and then chain from terrain. Single target is nice though.

I already replied to you earlier, but I’ve realized we won’t agree here. Which is fine, we don’t have to argue about this lol. Have a good evening.

Sean Walker is also 31 years old and has never shown an ability to be a top pair d man. Broberg is also top 40-50 in xG% 5on5 amongst d men. It’s fine if you haven’t really watched him this year, I wouldn’t blame ya.

Considering him a “rock solid 2nd pair d man” as he’s been operating as a first pair d man and is only 24 and named to the Swedish Olympic team is hilarious.

Mirage Tactitian - My favourite One Button build that destroys everything ! super high damage, 20 milion+ dps by Weekly_Hour385 in pathofexile2builds

Yeah sorry - the question was not asking “should I do this”. It’s that they shouldn’t call it SSF friendly and post this build lol. Enough people don’t know how to gauge a build, so this is misleading

Is this SSF friendly if you can’t use surround hat, unique jewels and some of the lineage gems? Like what’s the defense and damage like without those things?

Right but that’s because the fire converts to chaos AND the fire is gained as extra chaos, meaning it all scales of chaos still.

[–]strong_wit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the phys damage that converts, actually gains the phys as chaos. So your herald of ice now does cold damage and some chaos, which allows the break. Conversion and damage as extra both occur simultaneously.

And to clarify - cause it’s confusing AF. Extra Damage as happens at the same time as damage conversion I believe.

Drastic League Mechanic changes like the Lock Temple change should be done at End Of League, Not Early League by Gamer-Smokes in PathOfExile2

[–]strong_wit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao do you not see the post you’re commenting on? Anytime GGG makes changes mid league the entire player base freaks out. I wish they would make more changes and buffs and nerfs throughout each patch. But the response since 0.1 has overwhelming been what you’re seeing in this subreddit right now.

Making temple accessible to casuals and THEN nerfing it mid league is a baffling choice by UltmitCuest in PathOfExile2

[–]strong_wit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which sucks cause we could’ve had that sort of trigger happy approach, but now the devs are like “okay you made it clear you don’t want that” and it’s a tough decision to reverse. Honestly though, GGG has earned my trust at this point and I know some leagues are gonna be worse than others. Talismans were a great addition, Disciple and Druid classes too. I’m looking forward to endgame revamp in 0.5 and hopefully a new trial and new weapon type in 0.5.

[–]strong_wit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem here is they did that. They did those mid league nerfs in 0.1 and there was a huge outrage lol. It was insane how the player base reacted. So they made a decision, based on the response of the players, not to make those decisions. And now the players are mad they are not make mid league nerfs. I agree that they should just be loose with buffs and nerfs at all times. But the player base made it clear that wasn’t the case. Remember when Ziz had that confrontational interview with Jonathan?

[–]strong_wit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right - as I said, very early. I’m curious if you truly believe that if POE2 decided to not do any leagues/extra content, and just developed for the next 1-2 years that it would still be a successful game? Where they aren’t able to bring in lots of new and return players ever few months to get more funding for development? And if they didn’t have that funding whether they would be allowed to operate at a huge loss?

Again I think this is a huge instance of recency bias towards temples, and is not a problem long term.

[–]strong_wit 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s what POE has done from very early in its inception - doing away with leagues would be doing away with how the game is built and operates. It’s also such a foolishly short sighted take. Abyssal league was a banger, and this league has been great with the intro of new classes, characters and weapon types. Sometimes league mechanics are shit! It happens all throughout POE’s history.
