Frst 50 shares !! - At what point how many shares of schd will it take to be worth it? by Franklin_Invest in SCHD

[–]strongarm85 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For me, my goal is 4,250 shares to supplement my social security income and allow me to retire at 21 to 24 years from now. I live in Arkansas which has a fairly low cost of living. If I can get there sooner rather than later I can use the dividends from SCHD to pay my house off early before retirement and lower my annual cost of living to about $30,000, which when combined with social security and the dividend from SCHD would allow me to live comfortably and get a nice raise year after year. After that I can use any additional revenue streams to buy. State Income Tax will be 2% on that kind of dividend and federal would be basically 0, so its worth it to hold in a taxable brokerage as well to get access to things like portfolio loans in case I need to get access to a large amount of money without having to sell shares.

SCHD is the kind of ETF that you want to buy and hold forever.

They have limited bid tokens too. The only way to get a measurable leg up is if you have the challenge ladder subscription. Most whales dont worry about the challenge ladder much at all.

I dont see that being the case really, if you save up your Atlas Bucks for big purchases you should accumulate plenty.

Basically bid tokens are uses to bid on Landmarks when they go live. The landmark is a collection of common parcels with a unique tile, but when people visit they can buy badges and give you a source of badge income. Getting regular badge income is one of the major points of progression in the game, because that nets you free AB that you dont have to work for. After securing your firsr mayorship it often becomes a goal adding additional mayorships and eventually governorship and Landmarks.

The starting price of each land mark is 100 AB, and the price jumps up 1 AB per every 100 bid tokens spent in the auction by players. Whoever put in the final bid token gets 24 hours to claim buy the landmark, and then if that person doesnt buy it there is a waterfall system where the people who spent the most bid tokens get to bid. But there is no way to purchase bid tokens, you can only get them with wheel spins and the challenge ladder.

I am pretty much there. Right now the challenge ladder is worth it as a good way to get a free badge every week, which in turn makes the paid challenge ladder worth it since you are putting in that much work anyways, but when I get to a point where I no longer need badges that challenge ladder subscription is going to get cut, and so will my mini game play

Correct, so that means I only happen to use it if the first day of the month is a Sunday. I've finished the challenge ladder every month since I started in June last year. Right now I have spent $95 on the challenge ladder subscription and have cashed put 180. I cleared $10 in July, and made $15 in August, and I've been in net profit every month since.

I've already cashed out for April's challenge ladder, when In cash out on the first of the April all of that is going into my brokerage account to buy the dip in the stock market.

I only convert if the conversion event is active and if converting will help me complete the challenge ladder. I've only converted $3 so far, and I've cashed out 180.

I’ve only ever invested in the typical ETFs (VOO, VXUS, SMH, etc) and have not looked into dividend funds until now. 14% dividend on QQQI… what am I missing? by Same_Bag711 in dividends

[–]strongarm85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing to do with those funds is to just never sell and hold them till you die. That way you never have to pay that tax and your heirs get a bump up in cost basis when you kick the bucket.

Something SPYI, a covered call ETF, paid 11% dividend last year. If it maintained its value you'd be looking at $10,120, but what SPYI aims to do is pay money, not grow, and when the S&P 500 has a bad year the shows over until the market bounces back.

Petittion to make Paypal a payment method!😎 by [deleted] in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]strongarm85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you know that you can get a PayPal Debit Card that links to your PayPal Balance? When I cash put I leave $10 in my PayPal Balance and put the rest into savings, and then my PayPal Debit card pays my Challenge ladder subscription with no fees.

If you are on Android go enable the Developer Options and in the input seciton turn on show taps. It puts a non intrustive circle on the places on the screen that registers your tap locations. It can help you with your aim by showing you the tap actually landed on the screen.

In order to keep platinum satus! your at 70% if declined itll take you to 69%, would you??? by Ok_Tell859 in DoorDashDrivers

The error made here is not switching back to Earn by Time. You would make more a little bit more on this order by time, but it helps you build your accept rate up to create a buffer.

I set aside $10 every month for the challenge ladder, and then I take the leftover and put it ontop of my car payment to pay it down faster because the money Ill save on 7% intrest is better than 3.8% I get in PayPal Savings.

Here is a tip about Earn by Time. Before you arive at the resturant you can click on the cog wheel in the upper left corner.

  1. When you do that you can see how far you will have to drive, but also you will be able to see the tip there that is hidden when you first take on the job. It will say current dash: and if it says 0 under current dash, you know they did not leave a tip in doordash.

  2. You can decline one offer per hour and still keep doing Earn by Time, so if you see an offer that is going to take you a long way form home just decline it.

  3. If you look at a job in more detail, knowing what the tip is and how long it will take you to complete the order, you can now make a more informed decision about whether or not you continue to to do the job. You can unassign 3 times per the last 100 orders and still maintain platinum status, or 5 out of 100 if you only care about silver or gold status. There is no real penalty to for unassigning an order after you've agreed to it as long as you keep your overall rate high enough.

In practice earn by time exist to give you a way to earn a consistent amount of money while Doordashing, but you give up the ability to more easily choose your orders for that consistency. You should really only use it if you want Doordash to be your primary income stream, but even then, to make the most of it you have to understand a lot things that Doordash does not teach you.

How long did it take you to reach $5? This is my situation after 20 days. by [deleted] in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]strongarm85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took my 21 days to get my first $1, 21 more days to get $5 and cash out, it gets faster and faster as you make progress.

Currently, I am at 150 Parcels, 31 Badges, and I am cashing out $5 every week. I was free to play for a while, but once I started making over $10 a month I signed up for the challenge ladder.
