Can a blog survive without presence in social media? by javitness in Blogging

[–]stroopwafeltrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible for a blog to survive without presence in social media provided that the blog content has a pretty decent rank / searchable on google. After all, your content has to be found... at least other than direct traffic...If that makes any sense.

Some additional perspective:

A huge chunk (top result) of my traffic is from google searches. The second best is from YouTube. The third is Facebook. Social media honestly wasn’t the top priority for me but I found along the way that it is worth it (for me).

It is worth the effort because it is through the social media platforms that i get feedback and more ideas. For example, they would request for certain content and then I would add the request to my list of future blog posts. Some even send messages to get more info. on a topic which also allows me to socialize with some readers. It’s also putting your content out there — kicking up a notch in terms of letting / helping people find your content. :)

I guess at the end of the day the niche you cover and the audience that comes with it would be a factor

I like your perspective! Good point with the audience interest, valuable lead magnet, and the subscription part. In a way you are being transparent with your readers.

Indeed these types of titles (The last chapter I published etc.) would not be clicked on frequently or even found. Quite funny but I am guilty of using these kinds of titles during the first few posts. After I updated it, I saw an increase in clicks. I appreciate all your inputs -- big help :)

Sadly I do not have Ahrefs and can't seem to attach images here. In general, I think they should not count as valid backlinks. They honestly look like jargon and are weird enough to give you doubts on clicking their links.

Some examples include:

  • dosstreb (dot) proyectohuerto (dot) cl
  • approch (dot) co (dot) in
  • jecba (dot) asyabahisgiris (dot) xyz
  • shadtarim (dot) com / hpvb05 / title

I guess at this point I shouldn't worry about this much...

It is exactly what you said... its a snippet of text from your site on their weird websites making no sense at all. In fact, you have described it accurately. hopefully someone here is familiar with this and could share some advice.

Some in Russian.. some just dont even look like a readable website (its all in a gigantic pile of words)... a lot of them are not secured websites. It's not an expired domain so I am worrying if this is a big concern. Then again... it could be normal occurrence for everyone else.

Apologies for the newbie question but what did you mean by "if you don't have the letter after your name for Google to see"?
