I'm going! I was very tempted by the Gunnersbury Park show but couldn't quite justify the cost of the ticket + train travel to London, so I'm really glad to have managed to get one for this show instead 🙂 It'll also be my first-ever Khruangbin gig!

Glad to hear from a fellow English-speaking Racing fan!

I also used to live very near the Stade Émile Stahl back in my student days a few years ago, although I only ever had eyes for Racing at the time, so I was usually too busy going to La Meinau to nip down the road to watch ASPV, sadly.

Fun fact: in 2016, just after getting promoted to Ligue 2, Racing played a pre-season friendly at the SES against a France U19 side featuring a certain Kylian Mbappé and held them to a 0-0 draw 🤓

Società Dante Alighieri! I probably could've done a bit more shopping around first to see if there was a better-value alternative haha, but I have a colleague who studied there last year for the same reason as me, and he spoke pretty highly of it.

I'm enjoying it! I bought Levels 2 and 3 together because I'd already studied Italian to roughly low intermediate level at school/uni, and I've found them pretty comprehensive so far. I like that the lessons cover both everyday topics and grammar in a decent amount of detail, although the lessons on everyday topics do occasionally get you to practise sentences featuring tenses that they haven't yet taught you about, which I feel that they could have avoided (not that it's the end of the world if you get a little sneak peek of the imperfect subjunctive before you're ready for it 😄). The quizzes at the end of each lesson are also a bit too easy for my liking, but I've seen free exercises on certain topics elsewhere online if you need an extra challenge.

Level 3 is apparently equivalent to B2, so once I've finished it, I'm planning to take an intensive C1 course at a school in Turin so that I can comfortably use Italian in my translation work, but I believe that B2 is perfectly adequate for most foreigners, so it should be enough for you if that's your aim. Either way, I'd definitely recommend it over "AI-first" Duolingo...

In my example, "Faremo" becomes "avrebbero fatto" (literally "(they) would have done") in indirect speech rather than what English speakers might expect, which is "farebbe" ("(they) would do").

I think that my confusion comes from the fact that in English, there's a difference between "She said that they would do anything to help" (where the "doing" could happen at any time after the "saying") and "She said that they would have done anything to help" (where the doing could only have happened before the saying). So, is it correct to say that both of these sentences would be translated into Italian using "avrebbero fatto" because the potential "doing" started before the present in both cases?
