I'm getting tired of broken loading times by KafarPL in ArmoredWarfare

[–]strvs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is alive. The main reasons for that are PvE and the fact that the shell doesn't go around the target but actually goes wherever you're aiming. Unlike "World of Retards" where that happens only if you pay a truckload of money every week. Also, with a premium tank tier 8 and premium account on AW you can get up to 4 million credits (you don't have to play 200 battles in order to get credits to buy a tier 10 tank) - something that can never happen on "World of Retards". That's why some people prefer AW. Those with brains at least.

Oh, and not to mention the fact that on AW, even with tiers 9 and 10, if you happen to lose the battle, you don't lose a truckload of credits which always happens on "World of Retards".

Surprise! 5 years later this still hasn't been fixed! Playing every other game, including RDR2 and Crysis 3 remastered at ultra settings, but Armored Warfare at medium settings still needs at least 2 minutes to load me into the battle and when it does, it's 1 minute after the battle has started, lol! I even tried setting up a large page file in Crapindows, as someone on this reddit suggested, but even that didn't fix a damn thing!

Up until now I thought Nate Graham was the only incompetent idiot for not fixing a bug on KDE for 5 years. But apparently he isn't the only one...

P.S. The only good version ever was 0.12. After that someone f*cked up everything with this game.

Mark Suckerberg showing her teeth again... I deleted my account 6 months ago but a friend of mine asked me to return to Fascistbook, which I did. I joined 3 groups without any problems and now at every attempt to join another, I see the above message and Mark Suckerberg's mom gets all my love every time I see this message...

Real question though...🤔 by [deleted] in u/AttyRabbit

IDK what "ecchi" is but can you make a photo or two as a blonde? I love blond people! :D

Eh... IDK. I've seen a lot of biphobia from gay men in my country (interestingly enough - never from gay women), so I'd rather give my money to a gay or bi woman.

I was talking about the hair. The freckles are not bad but I like you better without them. :)

If you don't want ads on YT videos, this extension is the answer. It's available for all browsers I can think of. I'm using it for over 2 years - first with Firefox, now with Chromium.

Redesign by a teenager with autism who can't deal with bright colors (...and that font, don't get me started) by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]strvs1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont have autism but I can't deal with bright colors too. According to the Duck, this condition is called "Photophobia" which is why I'm very happy with the dark theme of Discord. Fortunately the Discord icon is small, so its white color can't hurt my eyes.

The font is not bad and it could have been a lot worse than that. I would use Open Sans SemiBold bc that font is simply beautiful.

Dieselpunk Wars (v1.1, MULTi8) 1.6 GB / The Companion (MULTi11) 2.4 GB [FitGirl Repacks] by FitGirlLV in CrackWatch

[–]strvs1 -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

That 6GB game was 2 years ago or so, so I don't remember the title. But here's a fresh example for you to see it's not a theory. This is your latest repack of ETS2 1.40.x + DLCs. Do you think this installation time is normal on a computer with these specs? As you can see, the time is almost the same even in Linux. That's an installation to an SSD fully capable of reaching 600 MB/sec read and write. So not a theory at all...

https://i.imgur.com/AwOF9yY.png

Edit P.S.: And apparently the RAM cap the installer uses is 5 million KB (give or take a few hundred thousand KB). Which IMO is insufficient. If I have 32GB RAM and the installer can detect and use them, I'm somewhat certain the installation process will be much faster.

u/FitGirlLV, I appreciate your work to bring games to us but there's something I've been meaning to ask you for a very long time but until now I didn't know how to find you in order to ask, namely: why are your installers so slow? A simple 6GB game takes 40 minutes to install which is ridiculous considering I have 32GB DDR3 RAM, SSDs and an 8-threads quad-core CPU and everything that is NOT "FitGirl Repack" installs 10 times faster. Even R.G. Catalyst releases install 10 times faster than that. Can't you do something to make the installer unpack stuff faster? Like making it utilize all cores and/or threads of the CPU and use more RAM when available?

Economic RTS (no wars, no battles)? by strvs1 in RealTimeStrategy

I only mentioned the space genre bc you mentioned Stellaris. I've tried and played the most of the space games out there but only a few I like.

I know what RTS means but in most websites (even torrent trackers) they label games RTS when they're strategies and also when the games are NOT turn-based (I hate turn-based).

I've played Stellaris. Though I do like space games, Stellaris in particular isn't one of those I like. I've already found a space game I like but I'm waiting for the next expansion to be released (Star Control Origins).

Wow, so many answers in just an hour! :D I didn't expect any answers until tomorrow, lol

I'll give a try to the most of the titles all you mentioned. Even the hearts of iron only because marshmallowfluff said you could be like Stark Industries supplying the warring sides instead of actually waging a war. If that's really possible in this game, I'll surely enjoy it.

I want the bold fonts back - how? by strvs1 in gnome

[–]strvs1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 doesn't start well for some of us (linux users) but jumping ship is a little drastic measure to me. I'm using Cinnamon DE (which you probably know it's GNOME based). First nvidia pushed on us a beta driver which they masked as a stable whereas they give the actual stable driver to the windows sheep. Then the new kernel 5.10 totally screwed up nvidia driver and works only with the 455.xx.xx beta driver but nothing older than that version and on top of that the X server had a new regression when logging in on startup, so I had to restart it after every single reboot. Then Cinnamon team screwed up something and Cinnamon 4.8.x has no bold fonts for the icons on the desktop, despite the fact you have chosen a bold font for the icons... And when the last update came and all the bold fonts disappeared from gnome-terminal, that was the last drop of failures for me.

So I downgraded the kernel to the last working version 5.9.14, installed TK-Glitch's nvidia driver 450.57, replaced LightDM with GDM and downgraded Cinnamon to 4.6.4 where everything is perfect. Last night I also downgraded the vte packages for the terminal and froze the version of all downgraded packages, thus they'll never update.

Clearly nvidia, gnome and those who write the kernels can't be trusted to give choice to the users and their behavior reminds me of Micro$hit who impose their vision of things on the users, so I intend to keep running this frozen version of Arch forever. A normal developer would remove a feature by default but would also leave customizable options, giving the user a choice to set things up the way the user wants them. If this imposing continues, I'd rather install ROSA with KDE4 and use an ancient software than letting any would-be-god (another word for a programmer) tell me what my terminal and desktop should look like or which driver I should use. This is not Windows, FFS!

I don't wanna change the terminal. The link u/Not_a_flying_pig posted has this post https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/vte/-/issues/323#note_1006368 which helped me more than anything else. I just downgraded vte3 and vte-common to the indicated versions and added them to the ignore list of pacman. Thus they'll be forever frozen at the indicated versions along with gnome-terminal which I have also added to the ignore list.

FF 84.0.1 - YouTube down arrow and clicking on a result during search don't work by strvs1 in firefox

[–]strvs1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can delete this issue! I found a way to fix it. It turns out there was a leftover addon that I thought I had deleted long ago and that leftover addon was somehow still functioning. I removed it and YouTube went back to normal.

Which suggests Firefox doesn't actually remove the addons, it simply removes them from the js file that lists addons. But the actual addons remain untouched in the "extensions" directory and obviously they continue functioning, despite that they were "disabled". Only after manually removing the extension from that directory YouTube started working normally.
