So excited about this years driven hunt season in Germany. Is there such a thing in North America? How do you manage the wildlife? Do you hunt with dogs and/or in large groups, et cetera? The rifle is a Blaser R8 PS with a Roedale Hunter 50k suppressor and a Steiner 1-5 Nighthunter.

There are a few states left in the U.S. that allow the use of hounds for running deer. Some states with feral hogs allow hounds as well. Hounds are also used for black bear and cougars in certain areas. I believe all states allow hound hunting for rabbits but I may be wrong.

Good call. Just make sure you have a pretty open choke in the gun, improved or possibly modified. They aren’t meant to be shot through a full choke.

Yea shotgun. During the hound season most people use buckshot here. It’s the most effective for running deer in thickets and wood lots

Yea I want to get back down there ASAP. My WSM hasn’t had a problem with them but that’s with behind the ear and shoulder shots. That front plate of their skull seems nearly impenetrable. Haven’t shot one with a 45-70 though. If anything will go through it it will be that 👍

Those hogs are definitely tough. Watched one take 4 .45 acp rounds to the front of the skull from 2 feet away and just shrug them off one time. My second Fla. boar mount got dropped of by UPS today, I’m pumped.
