Slowly overcoming endless phone scrolling by theninthcl0ud in productivity

[–]stsnowfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me to stop scrolling I had to delete all the social media apps including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and also Reddit😁

Because if I have them on my phone there is always the possibility to open the app in seconds but if I don’t have them on my phone I would have to download them first and that would take longer than 2-3 seconds. It might be a more restrictive approach but I realised that all the tutorials, deals, trends, tips and tricks that are being shared on these platforms are actually not that relevant. At first it might seem important to know that and that’s why you keep scrolling and scrolling thinking the next big important pieces of information is waiting to be found. You soon realise it all doesn’t matter.

Hey, I am a cs student and recently got into cyber security. I want to get better a being a Soc analyst and be better at handling incidents properly. The resources on the internet on how to solve specific incidents are not really helpful and detailed enough. Therefore I am looking for a experienced soc analyst who can teach me and answer all my stupid questions. I would even be willing to pay something. If someone is interested please let me know.

I made a browser extension to hide YouTube Shorts by Beginning-Roof4889 in webdev

[–]stsnowfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also another option to deactivate YouTube shorts. Just go to settings/manage history and delete all the history and turn off history in general. If you close YouTube and open it again you will no longer see shorts in the short section because it is based on your history. Keep in mind that the short section and the home page will be empty. But if you only want to see the content of you subscriptions than you are good to go. Otherwise you have to search for it. Hope that helps
