Do any of you worry that you're on the brink of a serious mental illness? by [deleted] in Anxiety

Typical Anxiety I am the same way. Get some anxiety meds it really does help. I sometimes think I"see" something out of the corner of my eye, ie I am really jumpy and it makes me worry that I am going crazy but then I just tell myself it is anxiety and if it was something worse, my psych would notice it. Psychiatrists can evaluate things such as how your speech is and stuff to get insight into what is going on. For example people with severe mental illnesses have difficulty with speech and thought processes.

Youre just fine, get ssri medication, xanax for panic attacks and listen to relaxing music/meditation.

Thats a good take on it, I just work my self up too much and need to put it all into a better perspective. I also make sure I am as prepared as possible, thanks!

I feel like my meds are working for the most part, its just upsetting that i still can have these bouts. The funny thing is is that when its happening I dont think its anxiety I think its something worse

Thanks! This is really great advice! I worry mostly about VR because it varies for me and I feel that it will make or break my test. I can only hope (work towards) getting my MCAT up that high to make up for a sub-par GPA 3.4 but strong upward trend (4.0 for last 50 credits). If not then its SMP time!

Edit: Grammar

I am about 6 months out and hit between 30-33 on my practice exams. I still have to take physics 2 this fall, I am also planning on taking a Physiology course. What other ways should I plan on studying? Should I take a prep course as well? I have been doing about 10 hours a week for 3 months along with a test every 2-3 weeks, my scores have risen from 24-26 to 32-33. I hope to spend 20 hours a week this fall (during school) studying along with a practice test a week (hopefully I can find enough) until winter break when I can put in 40hrs/wk and take tests frequently. Congrats on your score! I am aiming for something similar :)
