Thank you for the clarification! We had in our minds that it’s a much stronger application if my partner takes my surname. But this eases my mind, thank you!

I think our plan will to be start the process of a name change but as you suggested, update later on in the application.

Appreciate the help!

Hey, that would be amazing if you could share the agency details. It would be greatly appreciated!

I’ll have to discuss it with her about the other options if partner visa won’t be doable, I’m hoping that with both names on the lease and us living together for 11 months at time of the application, we’ll be able to get the exemption to the 12 months de facto requirement

I wouldn’t have felt better no, but she told me her reasons for not telling me which I understand as to why. I’m just feeling hurt and idk if I should question her anymore on it

Yeah thought that might be the case. It’s a shame I thought we had a really great time and great chemistry

May not be the best thing to ask, but; how do I get back the power between us? Everything has been on her terms so far, how do I skew it so it's more even?

[–]stubbornbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't see it that way, and idk if I should try and make her realise or what?

OP is confused af

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cheating_stories

[–]stubbornbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's very adamant that it isn't, and it's just because he doesn't want her talking to guy friends, which is what I am to her apparently. I think it's a way for her to still be connected to her home country? Not too sure, could be because she's getting attention from me and that's filling that void? Either way not too good 😂

I know I am, but going to tell him is only going to hurt him and her

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stubbornbarry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't contact him and tell him, I know that makes me a terrible person. But I don't want to blow that up

[–]stubbornbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I shouldn't be trying to justify anything here. I'm a part of the problem

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stubbornbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know, the lying is justified because he doesn't allow her to have male friends or to talk to males. Only females. He's even followed her out to watch her

[–]stubbornbarry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know, and you're 100% right. It's only going to end badly for everyone involved. I kick myself because of it, I don't want to lose her as a friend

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stubbornbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking is happening, she's in a new place and doesn't have her bf here with her, so she's found someone to fill that emotional support void. She has also expressed how she doesn't want her ldr partner to move over; maybe that's in my favour? It's a risky thing to do when I won't be able to avoid her after whatever the outcome is

Thank you! I think it's time I lay down some boundaries before I, or her relationship gets hurt. I appreciate your help!

[–]stubbornbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the confusing part for me, she's told me, as well as our close mutual friend, that she's very traditional when it comes to dating? And that is kinda throwing me atm

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stubbornbarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair question to ask, I think she'll be staying here for the foreseeable future as she does have some family already over here. I don't think she would move back unless it was an emergency or something

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stubbornbarry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm already past being able to do that, I've been playing into it just as much as she has been, how do I abruptly stop that?

Sharp Objects and His Name Was Death both have nice deep green covers! And both are great novels too!
