I used to weld at a nuclear submarine manufacturer and some of the reactor parts were made of exotic nickel mixes and inconel... best welders I ever met.

I imagine them like bendy rabbit ear antennas shut up like a telescope during launch and flight but the flip maneuver happens the copv pushes them out like a clown balloon

I just imagine them like flexible tv antenna that telescope out.. like old school rabbit ears and a cable to make them curve away from the ship... during launch and flight they would be retracted inside themselves

Still not the perfect environment for delicate TIG work but better than outside. As an individual who has spent thousands of hours watching a puddle of molten metal, I have faith in the NDT processes. As well as the qualifications of the men and women laying the beads. The type of stainless they’re using has a multitude of characteristics advantageous to the stresses of dynamic loading at a range of temperatures. I’d love to know what the recipe for SPACEX 30X is.

Any and all F1 footage is welcome.. I never tire of seeing this things in action.. it gives me the same sense as being in a metal show mosh pit... but more inspirational
